Planning a nice day run trip up to Woods Point in the 2nd week of Jan, going to make sure we don't pick a day of 35DegC so keeping the date a bit flexible until Jane confirms we're going to get a nice day. So join up as you can but will be weather dependent especially if total fire ban, trip will be pushed in or out to avoid.
Will be pretty cruisey and relaxing, usual route to get there, but out via Jerico and Casper Creek to Jordan Divide Road at the end of the day.
Just need BYO lunch and a full tank of fuel, standard recovery gear, your own working GPS in case the group splits due to mechanical issues as I'll be stopping to help anyone needing assistance, assuming it's not me lol. Must have A/T tyres at minimum, no road tyres, low range gearing no SUV's. Suitable for anyone new to 4x4'ing as long as you have a can-do spirit.
Tracks are well formed no wheel-lifting -unless you want it in a couple of spots- no scratchy paint stuff etc. Just a relaxing days drive with a splash or two through the river here and there. A few steep spots but low range and steady throttle sees you through.
Putting in a few extra spots in case the date changes and everyone can't make it. Would consider making an overnighter if that's a more popular option too to get some elbow bending time in of an evening.
