Day 1 – Wednesday 8/5/19

Travel Day from Melbourne

 

Last Fuel Corryong Stop at Corryong!

 

-Back Thowgla Rd

-Thowgla Rd 

-Nariel Gap Rd

-Corryong Benambra Rd Through Willow Crossing and Staceys Bridge

-Wheelers Creek Road,

-Camping at Wheelers Creek Hut (Base Camp for 2 nights)

 

Total – 72kms   From Corryong to Campsite

 

 

Day 2 Thursday 9/5/19

Wheelers Creek Hut Campsite Via Mount Pinnabar and Mount Gibbo

 

-Depart wheelers Creek Hut Camp Between 8-9am,

- Shady Creek Track Upper to Mount Pinnabar 1773 Above,  As this follows the ridgeline, If its a clear day will be views to remember!

-Mount Gibbo Track & Summit of Mt Anderson 1650 Above

-Continue of Mount Gibbo Track along the Scenic Reserve

-Wild Boar Rd

-Paddy Joy Track

-Returning to Wheelers Creek Hut Base Camp

 

Total of 52.7kms

 

Time Pending we may Include Mt Sassafras and Finish the Wild Boar Track and then return to Wheelers Creek hut via Benambra Corryong Rd

 

 

 

Day 3 Friday 10/5/19

Wheelers Creek to Dartmouth


-Pack up and Depart Wheelers Creek Hut Between 8-9 (Big Day on the tracks so closer to 8 would be super!)

-Wheelers Creek log Rd

-Short Stop at Mt Bogong/Dartmouth Lookout

-Benambra Corryong Rd

-Sipthhorpe Track

-Short Stops at some mine relics around Glen Dart Township

-Mount View Track

-Gibb Range Rd

-Benambra Spur Rd Through the Mt Cravensville Scenic Reserve 1392 Above

-Tallengatta Creek Track

-Benambra Spur Track

-Mount Benambra Rd onto the Summit of Mount Benambra and Hut 1476 Above (Good Views Expected Here)

-Dartmouth Rd onto The Omeo HWY Top up Fuel at Either Dartmouth or Mitta Mitta Township

-Camping along the Stoney Creek somewhere between Stoney Creek campsite and Lightning creek Campsite

 

Total of 119kms Seems Like a lot but I don’t expect today to be an overly challenging day so should be fine to make camp at a reasonable hour

 

 

Day 4 Saturday 11/5/19

Stoney Creek to Emu Station (Mount Beauty)

 

-Depart Stoney Creek Between 8-9

-The Hollow Way Track

-Summit Bull Hill 1428 Above

-Trappers Creek Rd Track

-Rodda Spur Track

-Rodda Creek Track

-Short Stop at Toms Hut

-West Branch Track

-Trappers Gap Road

-Mountain Creek Road

-Kellers Rd Into Mount Emu Station (Check out the website for Mount Emu Station Via YOUCAMP) Detailed list of facilities available including firewood delivery and showers) Once numbers for trip is confirmed I will book Top of the Hill Campsite $17PN PP and $22 Firewood Delivery

Day 5 Sunday 12/5/19

Emu Creek to Melbourne

 

-Plan is to conclude the trip around 12pm, to allow us to be back in Melbourne around the 4pm Mark, Will role the map over the bonnet Saturday night and work out what tracks we could squeeze in to do on the way out.

-Or could be Potentially sleep in day and just enjoy Emu Station for what it is, Leave that open for discussion. 

 

 

With winter Approaching and the High Elevations on this trip, Would suddgest getting Some Alpine Diesel Additive in your tanks at Corryong and for when we top up and Dartmouth or Mitta Mitta

Doesn’t look good atm does it... Will keep an eye on the forecast for the next few days... But one way or another I’ll be going! If the forecast doesn’t improve in this area may have to look at other areas... Will see how we go
