This is the first trip we are running with this group since we moved to Sydney a year ago. We have many years 4wding in all terrains, we have respect for the tracks and ensure we leave no trace of our visit. Please note we do not know this area at all so its a bit of a reconnacence mission, hence the grading as not sure what we will come across. Welcome anyone with knowledge of the area to join the trip to offer guidance and advice. We are going armed with topographic maps and a sense of adventure.
The meeting point is a little way from the entrance into Olney State Forest, the plan is to spend some hours on the tracks and head back to The Basin camp ground in Olney SF for a night around the camp fire. This plan may change as the day goes on, may find a camp elsewhere we like the look of at the right time of day.
Sunday the plan is to be on the road no later than 10am for a few more hours driving, hope to be on the road home by 3pm on Sunday.
As we don't kow the area we have limited the number of vehicles to 6, bring along as many passengers as you wish but please understand this is an exploritory trip for us so there may be a bit of turning around and backtracking.
