Planning a day run up to Mt. Matlock and hoping to jag some snow for a bit of a play along the way. I have a visitor from the USA that I will be taking in my car on the day as he's dead keen on doing a day run and seeing the Aussie bush and Woods Point township.
Will take the standard route up from Big River but go over the top of Mt Matlock in search of the white stuff. Was up there over the Queens Birthday weekend and it was actually snowing nicely so early in the season.
You WILL need a winch or lockers as a minimum and full recovery gear as some uphill sections may be slippery. Nothing too steep, but some cars lost traction last week in the muddy conditions and had to use the 'electric assist' option. High ground clearnance vehicles only with minimum A/T tyres, plan for a full day on the tracks, so full tanks and BYO lunch.
Please also have your own GPS unit- in case of breakdown I will be assisting any vehicles where possible and may have to direct the group toards the nearest main road or appoint another leader so please be prepared should plans change.
Even if there's no snow we're still going :-)
Requirement
