The plan is to visit Craig's Hut and Bindaree Falls on Sunday 26/04, camp at Bindaree Hut that night and further exploring Monday before heading home Tuesday.  The second day is very open as it will depend on the weather in the coming week.  It is possible that we may end up coming out at Licola and doing a couple of huts, Bluff, Lovicks and Howitt.  I'm happy to work with needs of anyone that wants to come along.  I just want to get up the bush.  It will be a swag/tent trip, some of the tracks I have in mind wont be camper suitable.  

 

I have also put this trip on another forum I'm part of, so will be balancing needs of everyone, but mine ome first. wink

 

I have put difficulty at medium because of possible track conditions.  I don't plan on finding hard tracks, just a couple of days up the bush.

Hi Linda and Jay, Looking forward to trip. Will be good to meet some like minded campers/4wders. Later in the week I will post exact meeting location(s) and time(s) once I know how many people are coming along and where they are coming from. At this stage I'm thinking BP service station on Eastlink.

Hi Jay, The first night we'll be camped at Bindaree Hut at this stage. It's easy to get back to civilization from there. If you're not familiar with the area, it's easy directions. Jason

Ok everyone, only a few more days. We will definitely meet at BP on Eastlink northbound lanes at 9.00 am on Sunday. The plan at this stage is to get up to Craig's Hut, then Bindaree Falls and finally to Bindaree Hut for camp. This is relatively close to bitumen for you to head out Monday Jay. We'll go via Mansfield and top up fuel tanks there. As for the rest of us, my plan is to head south over the hills and visit a couple of huts prior to setting up camp. I know of a number of camp sites on the southern side of the hills, so we'll see how we're travelling as to camp location. I've received information that a couple of large trees have come down near Craig's Hut and that they received about 60mm of rain last Friday. I will contact Park Rangers Friday to confirm any track closures. Due to above facts plans may change. Any questions, give me a call on 0417347199. Jason.
