High Country Trip 22/6/20 – 26/6/20
Trip will officially begin on Monday 22nd from Talbotville campground, I will be heading up on the 21st...Sunday morning (EARLY) for those wanting to convoy, Or can Meet up at Talbotville Anytime Sunday arvo/night

Day 1 – Sunday21/6/20- Travel Day from Melb to Talbotville
- Dargo Pub – Top up fuel
- Dargo Rd
- Short Cut Rd
- Crooked River Rd
- Talbotville Camp Ground
- Total KMS 43kms






Day 2 – Monday 22/06/20 – Talbotville to Horseyard Flat
- Crooked River rd
- Station Track
- Cynthia Range Track
- Eaglevale Track
- Wonengatta Rd
- Billy Goats Bluff Track (Going Up) Will be something special if snow is down to 1400m
- Pinnacles Lookout (Arguably the best view in the VHC)
- Mt Kent Track
- Mt Kent Summit 1546m
- (If time permits we will also do Mt Dawson Via Shanty hollow Track)
- Kent Rd
- Piniccles Rd
- Camping at Horseyard Flat
- Total KMS 73



Day 3 – Tuesday 23/06/20 -Horseyard Flat to Chromite Mine
- Horseyard Flat
- Moroka Rd
- Only a quick drive down the the Moroka Hut car park where there will be a short walk over the Moroka River to check out Moroka Hut
- Continue on Moroka Rd (Easy drive conditions usually, However it is at 1400 so high chance of snow driving)
- Doolands Plain Track
- Small Hike upto Neilson Crag (1km each way) Expecting some nice views here
- Back down Doolans Plain Track
- Arbuckle Junction Track
- Mt Arbuckle Lookout
- B2 Track
- B1 Track
- Chromite Mine Track
- Camping at Chromite Mine
- Total KMS 70



Day 4 Wednesday 24/06/20 - Chromite Mine to Macalister Gorge
- Finish off the Chromite Mine Track
- Burgoyne Trk
- Jamieson/Heyfield Rd
- Resupply at Licola – Fuel/Bread Ect.. If store is closed may have to venture to hayfield.
- Heyfield/Jamieson Rd
- South Rd
- Mt Usefull Spur
- Mt Usefull Summit 1434m
- Green Hills Link Rd
- Green Hills Track (Very scenic, With Some steep sections)
- Camping down in the Macalister Gorge
- Total KMS 107

Day 5 – Thursday 25/6/20 – Macalister Gorge to Woods Point
- Burgoyne Gap Track (Very Scenic with some Very Steep Sections)
- McEvoys Trk
- Mcguire Track
- Pluto Link Track
- Spud Spur
- Walhalla Rd
- Johnsons Hill Track
- Woods Point Pub
- Old Coach Rd
- Frenchmans Gap Track (Very Scenic and usually snow) 1350m
- Back down Frenchmans Gap
- German Spur Track
- Camping at Snakes Reserve, Picnic Point or Knockwood

Day 6 - Friday 26/6/20
Will not plan anything for this day as most people like to head straight home, If anyone wants to do an hour or so on the tracks before heading home Via Jamieson we’ll work it out up there.
