Big River to Mount Terrible - Meet at Camp Friday night or Saturday Morning 9am EASY / MEDIUM

Big River to Mount Terrible Hut, VIC

See more trips

Meet and Camp Friday night at Big River Camping Area (it is on your right heading to Stockmans Reward along Big River Road), or meet at Camp Saturday morning before 9am to head to Mount Terrible  and camp down in Jamieson somewhere along the river.  Sunday will just be heading back to Melbourne via the bitumen.

Open to suggestions, but certainly do not want to bash our cars around or jepodise safety. We will be out in the bush for a couple of days where we will sit back around a big fire at night having a good feed, a few drinks, laughs and stories from the day.

If you cant make Friday night, you are welcome to come Saturday Morning, leaving camp about 9am. UHF Radio will be on 37

*Please if you have joined the trip and for some reason can not make it, please withdraw as soon as possible to give someone else the opportunity to join and fill a spot*

- Meet at Camp in Big River, its called Big River Camp Area.

- Also I reserve the right to pull the pin if the weather is extreme such as heavy rain, winds, storms.

Hi there, short notice for this trip. I posted it Wednesday afternoon and it was approved Thursday afternoon so I can understand if people can’t get to camp Friday night.

So you are welcome to meet on Saturday morning at camp to leave from there. To get to camp it takes about 45mins to an hour from either warburton or Marysville so allow yourself enough time.

Any questions feel free to ask

Hi Eli, I am relatively new to 4WD and have only traveled on easy tracks but interested in your trip. I have recovery gear, radio but no winch. I like your description of the trip so would you accept a beginner on this one?

Hi Peter,

you should be fine, there is really nothing to difficult about this trip. I have done this trip many times before so has Pauly who has joined as well. Ensure you have good tyres though and you should be right.

I note Peter you are new to this site, so if you join please ensure to check in to confirm your spot.

Thanks and see you there.

I will also grab some wood and hope to be there between 5-6pm so look for a dark blue prado150 and a driver chilling with a cold one, hopefully next to a warming fire!
