NOTE: Don't forget is Daylight Savings this Sunday. Hopefully we all turn up at the correct time.

Wombat run to test out my new setup on the Troll. I don't have hard set tracks, but I am familiar with the area and will be trying some new tracks (unknown condition) and some tracks I know pretty well.

Whilst I won't do insane bog holes, there will definately be some mud around epsecially if it rains. Possibility of a creek crossing (depth varies by rain) that I've been wanting to go to for a year. Also will have a good climb. If it's slippery, might be a winch job up.

Whoever came on my trips before, it'll be similar tracks we drove before. I might or might not go into unknown / unnamed tracks (potentially a challenge, or can get a bit sketchy at times as they might not be as well maintained as the main tracks), if there's one thing I know about the Wombat.. is that an unsuspecting track can turn into batshit crazy (especially with a little rain) - so be well equipped just in case. As always come at your own risk.

Recovery gear required, winch recommended. Please don't come on your highway terrain tyres.

Recommended Setup
  • 32 inch muddies or aggressive A/T (nothing less and no HT)
  • 2 inch lift or you will do more damage than you should.. and might bottom out on some places
  • Working winch highly recommended
  • Front and Rear recovery points
  • Extensive Recovery Kit in good condition (Snatch strap, extension strap, snatch block, dampener, shackles etc)
  • Snorkel if we find deeper creek

Hey mate, 31 muddies and 2 inch lift should be fine for most of the tracks. You have a winch and looks like a capable enough car. If you want to come along you are welcome to join. As long as your winch works and you have recovery gear it's not a problem.

I usually put those requirements so people don't turn up on their low profile big rims and highway terrain, but if you have a setup car your welcome to join.

No worries mate. Snorkel might not be required.. And if we arrive to that section and deem that it's required, we can skip that section and go somewhere else.

You guys might appreciate this. You know when we walked down to that bike track and we saw that INSANE hill climb with deep ruts etc.. and we thought it was the hill we did earlier that day? Turns out.. it's not. And I did some Google Maps investigation and I might have found a 4wd entry point to that area.

That challenge looks insane, definitely 35s+ territory.. But I'll mark it maybe for some other time even to just go and look.

If any of you guys still interested.

https://www.4wdtrip.com.au/trip.aspx?tripid=937

New Trip now that the tracks are open. Most likely we will stick to Lerdy unless we have time and go to Wombat for some more fun. I will explore some new tracks, but the first few tracks you guys will enjoy for sure.. Some good hill climbs.. challenge for sure if tracks are a bit wet.
