Depends on what tracks you plan on doing as to whether a winch is needed, get stuck on Rocky or Lyndells in the wrong spot without your own winch and it would be interesting to say the least

Winch is recommended but i most attending dont have one we can asses what tracks we do.

its not that people are not willing, the same as you, I and others are always willing to help out when they can but on hard tracks where you can not turn around or reverse all the way back up it is very difficult to winch a car without there own winch.
A 10 minute winch recovery becomes a 2 hour recovery with straps and snatch blocks with a heap more risk for all those involved.
Rocky track would be doable but Lyndells without a winch would be just stupid in my opinion.

I'm happy to help anyone without a winch also on a trip.
Next trip I'd be reluctant if they haven't made the effort to get their own though and it happens again...

Ant thoughts on where the meeting place will be?
On a lot of trips out there McKenzie reserve Yarra Glen is a good spot and allows people to do a fuel, food and coffee top up if needed
