With the huge amount of interest recently in beginner trips I thought I would post another one.

Like the others this is aimed at those with little to no 4wd experience. If you are looking at more challenging tracks then this is probably not for you.

Looking at finishing up around 3 to 4 in the afternoon. Will be photo opportunities to show off some 3 wheel action as I know a great spot to do this.

If you have any recovery gear feel free to bring it, as well as deflators or compressors.

The only strict requirement is for a UHF radio. Hand held is fine, but it is important that you do have one.

Would also suggest some thing for lunch as we will be stopping for a bite to eat and any toiletries that you feel you may need if nature calls.

NOBODY will be pressured into doing anything they are not comfortable with, however by the end of the day as you get to know your vehicle you may be a lot more confident than at the start of the day.

With all of the rain we have had up this way recently I will most likely be changing some of the tracks I had thought of doing. As this is ideally aimed at those with little to no experience my main priority and concern is safety. it may mean a slightly shorter day. However, i may do a couple of practical safety demonstrations such as winching techniques if this is the case. For the more experienced of you that want to have a go at some more slippery tracks (and there will be a few) you are welcome to. However I am not intending to make anyone not confident attempt anything they do not wish to. This is all about having fun and getting to enjoy the day.

Hi Greg, couple spots opened up. I hope you don't mind me joining?

I'm a bit more experienced probably than what this trip is aimed for, however I never been to Tallarook and I don't mind being mid car or TEC and give you a hand if needed. I led a few trips on 4wdtrip so happy to lend a hand if your happy to have me onboard.

As just mentioned by Thurstain. It is going to be very wet and cold tomorrow so please make sure you are prepared. Warm clothes and wet weather gear. We have had 3 days of heavyish rain and tomorrow is expected to be about 5 to 8 mms.

Hey guys thanks for the winch out. The winching seemed to work the transfer case into low 4wd (from neutral) which is why i got drive ability back to limp the 40km back to pyalong on back roads. Looks like selector is disconnected from the transfer case so can't shift it from 4L. Must have been hanging on by a thread and finally gave up yesterday morning. Looks like you had a great day. Nice pics and vids.
