Hi guys,

After sussing out a bit of a trip plan i will be doing an really simple daytrip to the Reefton Hotel via Warburton (Big Pats Creek) on the 18th october. a really easy no presure kinda day with a nice Lunch at the pub and back again, .05 applies. no exsessive drinking or you will asked to leave. 

This drive will be relitavley easy, with one or two small challanges thrown in for good  photos / video and will suit a less experenced or beginer with a 4wd low range (No Soft Roader's Please)

If it stays dry all good, if we get a lot of rain between now and then, i may postpone it as its all red clay base andwill be a very different story in the wet..

If youir looking for a harder challange drive or want to be a hero, please this is not the trip for you as most tracks have been recently graded so i am informed and im still relativley new to 4wd myself.  

I will limit the trip to 8 trucks as i have 2 spots pre-taken. 

Post up if your keen, i will hand out a trip plan on the morning when we stop to air down..

Moto GP is on that weekend and I have booked tickets for the 3 days...... Probably won't be there but keep the trips coming..... The lead up to Dec is just soooo busy, boozy lunches and kids stuff but will always try and fit a trip in..... Easy or hard .... Just getting out is all that matters.....and of course getting back on the same 4wheels you departed......Hitman.

Hi Sam,

Yes i have put together a trip loop from Big pats creek to the Reefton Hotel.

Tracks will be relativity easy, with Stingybark track, crooked river track and the lays fire-line probably presenting the more technical tracks. If we don't get any heavy rain before Saturday it will be a fairly easy day. .

Challenges will not be hard, just a few rocks and a little bit of a rutted climb, like i say its more suited to beginners or limited experienced drivers wanting an easy kinda day.

I am keen as some plans on the home front have changed to the boss and I can get out for the day and we did the same Wallhalla trip a couple of weeks ago so a easy trip, not with wet tracks in warby, sounds good

Yeah trip is going ahead. Not too much rain and am told it was bone dry and dusty last weekend so a bit of rain will be great to keep the dust away. It might make one or two tracks a bit more slippy but all up should be ok..

Sam it good to have you on board ,I think it was you and your dad I spoke to through the fence at Leisure fest , I recognized your TJ, I am not doing this trip I will be on the Walhalla trip but I will catch up with you on a trip soon I'm sure, the Big Pig gets around a bit.

Transfer case seems to be alright now, haven't had a chance to drop the oil and check everything yet but I cleaned a heap of mud out of the skid plate that had built up around the t/case which wouldn't have been helping the situation.

yep very sad day indeed, the first time from memory that I've had to be recovered from such a small puddle, in my defence I did enter it very slowly and hadn't checked the depth or more importantly the base, as soon as the front wheels hit it I thought I would be in trouble because they sank into the slop by about 6'', even sadder was that the bloody pootrol drove st8 through it grrrr but he does have 35's not 32's.
was a great day out and good to meet a few more people from the forum.
Sam all the mud could have been your issue, it might have stopped the linkages selecting properly, I spent about 3 hours detailing on sunday morning which reminded me why I hate mud !!

Yes i also had a bout 3 hours cleaning Sunday afternoon, with a hangover from the bucks night i went too on sat evening..
