Merrijig to Jamieson MEDIUM

Howqua hills, VIC

See more trips

Explore the back country of the Howqua hills making our way from Sheepyard flat campsite  on the Friday, down to Jamieson area for camp on Saturday night.

Medium - Hard in some areas. But that is mainly due to some of the hills around this area being steep.

Meet up point is now Sheepyard Flat campsite. Rick is likely to arrive mid afternoon Friday to save us a good spot and is happy to cook the spit for our dinner.

Saturday nights dinner I’ll take care of.

We’re in for a bit of fun with this one guys.
Plenty of low range and a bit of technical stuff too.
Fingers crossed it doesn’t rain too close to the weekend as the clay is as slippery as ice.
Track and trip itinerary to follow shortly

Absolutely fine mate.
Camping areas have huge spaces to accommodate it, and if there are over hanging branches on the tracks, we can just cut them to clear a path

Hi all
I’m aiming for dinner to be ready at 8pm. That should give everyone time to arrive and set up before a drink and a good meal.
I’ll be bringing a little bit of fire wood, can others please bring some as well.
See you all then

Hey guys, I'm really pumped for this trip. Last overnighter for me was over Christmas so can't wait. Will bring 2-3 bags of fire wood. My mate kelvin should be coming he's the bloke from the Warburton trip. I'm just hoping my fingers are ok as I smashed them at footy about 5 weeks ago. See you all there

Also I have had a few maintenance items on the Fj that I will need to address but nothing major and slowly going thru the list . Who says Toyota’s are good quality ? :)
What items are causing you grief mate?
Ask rick, he’s say Mazda, Eli would say Mitsubishi...

Hi Eli,
Thanks for the offer to bring more meat. I'll be bringing heaps, so there may not be enough room on the spit or time if your arriving at 6pm. I'm sure we could cook some more on night 2 though.
Look forward to seeing every one!

I could always put the lamb and pork in my pot for the dinner I'm planning on the second night.
Rick, do you also want me to bring a salad and some pre cooked spuds for night one, like we did at the end of last year?

Rick (Rick T)
Hi Tom
I like the idea of cooking the extra meat in the pot.
My wife is making a potato salad for Friday night. Bring anything else you want.
Cheers

Steven (ReefMaster) wrote: Sorry Guys,
I have to withdraw from this trip. The FJ is all ready and mostly packed but the past few days have seen me take a few days off due to pain management and X-rays to ascertain how I have hurt my spine and how to manage it. It’s got me bewildered as I cannot put a single incident that could cause cause it- I don’t do any heavy lifting at all apart from filling up the photocopier paper (prints 50000pages a day). Doctor was indicating slipped or ruptured disc /pinched nerve /arthritis after the X-ray but now will be doing CT scan and MRI as well. Things aren’t looking good and I just wonder if it’s not the car , well our human body can falter. It’s been a struggle to pick up a pen off the floor , get out of bed and even go for a walk. On lots of pain killers and heat patches . I can barely walk and it’s best I don’t risk the injury further .
Many apologies once again , please do enjoy the trip and have fun.
Sorry to hear that Steven.
I hope the pain eases up for you and we will see you on the next one.
