Dandos camp ground is approx. 38 Klms south of Colac or 41mins driving according to google.

Campground has Toilets, Camp sites, Fire pits, Picnic tables, Horse camping and Dogs Permiited.

Things of interest in the area are 4WD tracks, Waterfalls, Forrest, Bushwalking and local attractions.

    Sorry M8 Rules are Rules, You must either own or attend in a Ranger or BT50 only
    If you cannot do this you cannot attend our Ranger BT50 weekend away!!

    PS. shouldn't have sold your Ranger!! If we compromise for 1 we'll have to do it for others!!

    Hi Guys,

    This trip like all the previous will be a base camp, and go driving from there, according to the internet there are 50 camp sites and there is caravan access, so for those of you who want to bring a little luxury, there campertrailer or caravan, knock yourselves out!!!

    G;day Ian - I'm keen to join, I've just paid the deposit on a brand new XLS! Hopefully pick up be end of the month. I will be keen to see how it performs compared to my old 100 series. I have to try to change my shifts around, but will know well in advance if I can't make it.
    Looking forward to it. Will be bringing the wife, 2 kids and camper trailer.

I think you'll need to change that avatar and user name though, won't sit well with other that want to come along but don't have a Ranger or BT50 Should be another great weekend and from what I'm told there's no problem getting camper trailers into the camp ground!

    Hi Guys,

    I would just like to point out AGAIN that this trip and all Ranger BT50 trips are for Ranger and BT50's ONLY!!!

    No Landcruisers, No Pootrols, No Navara, or any other kind of 4WD except Rangers and BT50's

    I don't know how much plainer I can make it?? It's blazened on the header and numerous other places!!

    Hi Rick,

    Welcome to the Ranger/BT50 weekend away!!

    There are no set start/finish times for the weekend, people basically do there own thing, come and go as they please and join in whatever they want to or not!!
    Generally when the guys are going out on the tracks for the day, they try to get out there by about 9.00am unless they know someone is turning up at camp that morning that wants to do the tracks, then they may hang around camp until maybe 10;00am. There aren't really any set times for anything!!

    WITHDRAWN from Trip - Reason: Unfortunately I'll have to pull out - my brand new ranger has been back to the dealer 6 times for a shake that they don't seem to be able to fix, consequently I haven't got my lift or any other accessories fitted yet. Spewing, I was really looking forward to it. Hopefully this ain't a sign of things to come with the Ranger. Have a good trip guys

    Hi Dean, we should be able to get fire wood from the tracks and as for fishing Gellibrand is the home of Blackfish, i have seen people fishing at the river at the campground with no success.

    Hi Dean, Whenever you arrive is fine m8 that's up to you!
    As for fire wood I would say being a campground it will be picked clean of fire wood so we may have to pick it up out on the tracks and bring it back with us!

    Trout streams?? going by the couple of pictures that 6 pack posted in our photo section there is a River/stream/creek run through the campground or near by, whether there is any trout in it is anybody's guess!! But there are quite a few waterfalls around the area and you need water for them so there will be rivers/streams/creeks around for you to explore!!

    Hi All if you are taking a caravan like me i will be going down to Colac topping up fuel then going to Gellibrand and then onto campground there is dirt from Gellibrand but road was good last time i was there if your just in a 4by and have time you can go down Cape Otway road to Forest and then come across to the campground by some dirt tracks if you have any questions call me today before 7pm on 0417012635 as there is no service at the campground thanks David

    Trip was great Nick, not a lot of driving, but a lot of drinking, talking and a few new friends made!
    There was a lot of discussion on the weekend about next year and it was decided that we will move back to the High Country somewhere for next year!!
    Have to start doing some research I think!!
