Easy Big River to Mount Matlock EASY / MEDIUM

Big River, mount Matlock, VIC

See more trips

Easy day trip from Big River to Mount Matlock. The trip is fairly easy but might have some sections that may be a little rutty and slippery, but nothing to worry about. I have done this trip several times and the first time was when my car was completely stock. Bring lunch and snacks, warm clothes as there might be snow.  Not planning a massive day, hoping to be back in Warburton by 3pm. If you are looking to bash your car around, this is not the trip for you.  However If you are new to 4WDing and looking to go for a beautiful drive out in the bush, maybe see some snow (if we are lucky) and meet some new people, jump on.

Please if you join the trip and can not attend, please withdraw as soon as possible to give other members the opportunity to join.

Similar, but a longer trip up and down ridges etc. Your Hilux should be fine. No need for winch

Hi Eli,

I have over 15 years 4wding experience but my latest baby is a stock as a rock 120 Prado with highway A/T's. I'm pretty confident that given the tracks have been graded and that it will be dry, that the Prado will have no issues.
I am about to join your trip however, if you don't think that my little bus is up to the task, please let me know & I"ll happily withdraw from your trip.

Have a great trip you guys, snow doesnt look likely but expect all the tracks to be slushy.

Noticed some of the participants havent 'checked in'; please do so that Eli knows 100% that you are going on his trip.
