This trip is just a relaxing weekend away from it all. I have been going to The Pines since I was a kid and love it up there!!
My plan is to either get up there early on the Friday morning or may even get there Thursday night. Setup camp, go get some firewood.
Friday night kick back around the fire with a few drinks, talk crap and just discuss what everyone wants to do on Saturday.
Saturday we can either just kick back around camp and do some fishing (we will be camping right on the lake) or I can take you for a bit of a scenic drive. There is also some really steep tracks up there that I probably won't be attempting but will be more than happy to take you to the bottom of them and watch you give them a crack!! There is also plenty of other tracks that are pretty easy that take you up to the top of the mountain where there is some great views of the area.
Will get the fire going again on Saturday night, wake up Sunday and make our way home.
Pretty much all the campsites are right on the lake, we will also camp at a site where there is long drop toilets. Mobile phone reception (Telstra) is pretty good in most areas up there, is a few dead spots but you wouldn't have to travel to far to get reception if needed.
This trip is open to anyone, families/kids are more than welcome on this trip as we intend to bring out 2 boys (aged 4&7), please no dogs or generators.
There is no powered sites, no camping fees, no showers, there is long drop toilets though.
It is 2wd access to all the campgrounds so even if your truck is off the road you can easily get to where we will be camping in any car!!
