Hi All

Meeting point is Capertee rest stop-service station.(cnr Castlereagh Hwy and Glen Davis rd.)

list of trails to be conquored in order of drive

we will head towards Gardens of stone NP on to

Glen Davis Road (sealed road)

Crown Station Road

Crown Creek Trail

Baal Bone Gap

The Bicentanial National Trail

and if have more time to spare we can do

Black Fellow Hand Trail

Beecroft Fire Trail

maybe even do "lost city" or Glowworm Tunnel Road

I Haven't been to any of above listed trails so i cannot be certain of the condition and/or if it is even passable.

I've done litlle bit of research and what i can find on youtube and some forums even stock 4wds should be able to do the challenge.

If anyone has done these tracks recently please feel free to give advice or tips in the discussions.

Trip details may change and any major changes will be listed .

cheers

Hey Zack,
Interested at this stage , I assume it's only a one day trip.
Is there any particular order the tracks will be done in and is there an expected end point ?
What sought of 4x4 do you have ?

Thanks for the invite
Regards Kev

Hi Kev

yeah mate one day trip. when it comes to order of tracks i planned to do it in order as listed in description. as for the end point, I've never been there before, so i'm not sure how long it may take. we'll have to wait and see how we go on the day
Any input or advice is more than welcome

cheers

Hi Zack,

As far as I know the Bicentennial Trail is for walkers only. I tried another track to do roughly the same trip but only found locked gates.

Baal bone / Cullen Bullen is a great track with some challenging steep sections, up and down. I can recommend it highly but it's not to be advised for all stock vehicles nor novice offroaders.

Have fun and please post some pics here or better even sime videos on YouTube with a link here!

Cheers

I was just there and on my way back to Wagga now, we got to the section where the really big hillclimb is and decided to turn around as it had been raining here for a few days and it was slippery as hell so it wasn't worth the risk with the rocks up at the top.
(1x twin locked 80 on 285s MTR Kevlars , 1x 80 open diffs and 32 km2's and a swb Jeep Wrangler with 285 km2s unlocked and none of us really felt comfortable with doing it that wet)

There is no water crossings on the GoS track, it runs along a ridge line.

Last time i was on the Garden of Stone Track, which part of is the BiCentennial Trail, is made for 4WD and there were no gates.
Some other parts of the Bicentennial Trail is for walkers only, but not on the Garden of Stones track.

You're right, it is a bit difficult to climb the steep stone, when travelling from the North.
This trip we will be entering the Garden of Stone Track from the South, and we get to slide down the large stone at the end.

All the tracks are negotiable. Baal Bone is difficult we were there in April and this was our 3rd attempt and we did it, we approached from the Lidsdale Forest end (across the road from Blackfellows Hand Trail) note its not called this anymore, no lockers, 33's and 2in lift careful wheel placement and right foot were the key however not for the faint hearted. If you do Baal Bone from the Captertee end there is a large rock shelf with steep rutted entry - winch territory. It hadn't rained in ages and there was still plenty of water on the track with 3 trees down on the track. The track with the most water and ruts was definitely Lost City and with all the rain I could imagine it to be the same. Glow Worm Tunnel is just a good dirt road unless it rains becomes very slippery.
