Meet up at Erica Pub head  then off to Mt Useful. Maybe take a look at the water wheel and ruins, Store Point Hut then head back along Donnelly Creek Track to Merringtons via either S track or O'tools.  Jo and I will be camping at Merringtons Sat night you can camp too if you wish or head back out to Walhalla Rd.

Recovery gear is required: snatch strap, front recovery points, rear hitch, all terrain tyre and full size spare tyre, full tank fuel, 500 highway km's worth should be more than enough (last fuel is at Moe) UHF CB handheld is fine. Bring your own lunch, drinks snacks etc and some walking shoes.

Tracks are easy to medium with great scenery not a hard trip. Any suggestions for the trip welcome.

Well done on running your 2nd trip Andrew. As you know, it is a long weekend so expect many of the campsites and tracks to be reasonably busy. Hope you all have a great time.

Thanks Allan, my first trip went ok so thought I'd do another thanks to guys like you, Mark, Antony, Winston and others I've met through 4wd Trips I've gained enough experience to do some easy trips.... yeah thought it may get busy hopefully they all wait until Easter. What is more worthwhile going via Mt Useful scenic reserve or Mt Useful tower & hut?

Will get back to you tomorrow Andrew. The drive up to Mt Useful is just on normal roads and the best time to visit the tower, in my opinion, is when there is some snow around. As I said, I will have a look at my maps when I get home from work tonight.
