A bit of talk about a 4wdtrip get together, thought I would just post one up. Friday to monday. standing camp. can come on the Saturday and Sunday only if can't get time off during the week. Bring camping gear, water and booze, in saying that, I like a drink probably more than the next bloke but you aren't at your local so please be responsible! Please try and cook on gas, won't be much of a fire with 10+ people destroying it to cook a meal and All rubbish must be taken with you. Family's more than welcome. Trip is unlimited but max 25 cars, there will be medium and medium/hard trips run on both the Saturday and the Sunday, or can just sit around camp/ do your own thing for the day. Please let me know if you plan on joining a trip on the Saturday or Sunday or both and what rating trip you are comfortable with. Day trippers welcome, will have to let me know at least 1 week befor the trip and must be at the camp by 9am to go on a trip, otherwise more than welcome to just come for a drink and a feed.

    Sounds like a great great idea. Have you set numbers? Bit hard to have a camping weekend but only have 6 odd cars on a day trip, unless we have a couple of trips each day

    Just so everyone is sure you can come and go as you please, can just come for a day if you please. Dosent have to happen straight away but It would be great if another 2 or 3 people to put their hand up to lead a day trip or 2. Don't need to know the area, will be supplied with maps, route, track conditions, etc

    Yes thanks for Dave clarifying it. PLEASE do not bring extra vehicles. We usually have strict rule on this. Imagine everyone bring one extra vehicles, we will end up having 60 vehicles sharing just a few camp sites.
    Angela, I believe Antony (Trip leader) is ok for anyone to come for a day trip. Please just let him know.

    Firstly, I apologise for replying to everyone so late, now to answer everyone's concerns/questions. Firstly, I put in the trip description some time ago that the max limit will be 25 cars. This was for reasons of control and trying to find a space for a group this size. Unfortunately I will have to remove the last 6 who joined this trip, I am sorry for this and I should have been on top of it earlier. I hope there is no bad feelings towards this but in my defence, it was stated in the trip description. The camp will be held at Managum camp, tamboritha rd, licola. It's off the bitumen, very easy to get to and there will be a 4wdtrip sign out the front telling people which one it is. Hopefully it's not to cramped but if so there is plenty more camping a very short distance away to where we will be. I think it will be ok as we will have 1 big comunal Fire and as long people don't need 50sm to themselves. All trips that I am planning will be a medium rating or medium hard if wet. In saying this if you want an easier drive there are many things to do close by (many huts, pinnacles, mt skene, etc).     Also guys, are welcome to come just the Saturday and Sunday. Trips will depart camp from around 9/10am Saturday and Sunday morning. And I'm not stressed with extra/less passengers but please do not invite friends with their own car as trip is full and will be unfair on people who were removed!

    Just shout out loud. We have a few trip leaders who are interested in running trips on Sat. I suggest we spit the group in 4 with 5-6 cars in each group.

    Also prehaps if everyone can reply here when you will arrive. This will help Antony manage the logistic.

    My suggestion is that if you plan to arrive on Sat and plan to go for a drive with the group , please get there early say 8-8.30am just in time for briefing.

    Antony please let us know if there is anything we can help.

    The closest fuel I think is Heyfield after a bit of research... which is one hour away.

    I think unless your running a common rail, it should be ok. If it's a common rail engine.. I'd just be a bit hesitant filling up from "dodgy" looking places.

    Ok guys so weekends coming up fast. The campground is muttonwood. Head on tamboritha rd out of Licola (this comes up on google maps and imaps). Follow the road for Mabee 15/20km and it will be on your right hand side as you cross a bridge. There are 2 entry's for the campsite, take the second entry and just go straight and you will run into the camp. Will have a 4wdtrip banner up on the entry off tamboritha rd. I will post a photo of where it is on the map. As others as said there is diesel and petrol at Licola, not to overly priced otherwise last fuel would be hey field or taralgon. If your a thirsty petrol maybe carry 20l spare otherwise you will be fine. Pack warm as it will be cold and if coming Saturday please insure you are at the campground by 9 if wanting to do a trip as planning to depart 930. See you all soon

    I was thinking the same, but unfortunately the area we are going to be in is the Alpine National Park.. since it's a national park.. no dogs are allowed.

    Pets are only allowed in some state forests and state parks. No pets in national park

    Thanks for uploading pictures and videos Kelvin on FB. It was a great trip overall. Met a lot of nice people and was awesome all the way. I definitely learned a lot, tested the limits of my truck and I was not disappointed. What a great memory and looking forward for future trips.

    EDIT: I'll have a look at my dashcam footage and see if there's anything good to share :)
