Mt Cole 4x4 adventure (weekend trip) MEDIUM / HARD

Mount Cole, VIC

See more trips
Mt Cole if a beautiful state forest NW of Melbourne, about 2 hours drive from Melbourne. There are plenty of easy - hard tracks in the area. Depending on the track condition and weather, we ill explore the park and check out couple tracks. Note: my trip may involve short distance walk/hiking to reach to the sightseeing/POI, so if you are not prepared for any walking, this trip is not for you.

You are more than welcome to camp on Fri night at the camp. I will meet you on Sat morning.

I would rate the trip as Medium at this stage meaning you may need a winch and well setup vehicle. If not, it may be tricky in recovery situation. My last trip in the area was nearly 3 years ago so track condition may have changed.

WITHDRAWN from Trip - Reason: Oops, sisters birthday party came up this weekend. I will be posting and leading a trip myself in a week or 2, to mt cole myself as it looks like a nice little forest to go to with some good tracks , plenty of interest in this one, so I am sure Kelvin it will fill up fast. Let me know of some good tracks... medium to hard ... when you are back.

Hi all. I an extremely sorry that I will have the reschedule this trip or if someone want to take over the trip. My wife and my son has just got COVID this morning and I also started to show the early sign of symptom. It's very disappointing but I am sure we can easily go back to Mt Cole in the coming weeks (I promise) . If you are happy to run the trip or familiar with the area, please post your comment here by 5pm today. Otherwise, I will reschedule this trip. Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Yes we have been quite lucky in our family until now.
With the tracks, there are plenty of tracks to explore, again, I don't know the latest condition so please make your best assessment and usually I like walk the track if in doubt..... there are couple hard tracks which I would suggest to avoid...
1. Eversley Sugarloaf Track (North West of the SP)
2. Green Range Track (Very rocky)
3. Telephone track (just next to the camp).
4. Powerline tracks (not sure if there is a name but there are a few tracks along power line)

I consider all these are HARD tracks,

Mt Cole is a very beautiful SP, just explore, take your time, and check out couple camp grounds.

Again, happy to reschedule this but happy for you guys to go ahead. Please stay safe.....
