Cruising / Touring 4WD day trip - Marysille area EASY / MEDIUM

Marysville / Narbethong, VIC

See more trips
First trip after lockdown 5.0
Just an easy/medium trip to drive around Marysille area. Starting from Healsville and head to narbethong. We will be driving an good track called Strickland Spur Track. This track was graded so it should be easy. It should take us high up which may see some snow. The plan is to check out some of the POI in the area. Plan to return at 3pm.
Keep this trip a small group as I have another car coming.

Starting from Healsville Beechworth Bakery. We will air down at Dom Dom Saddle picnic area (There is a public toilet there). Starting the first track on Dom Dom Creek Road heading north and get to the Strickland Spur Track. From there, we will go to Keppel Lookout. It's a great lookout overlooking Marysville. From there, we will continue our journey and head over to Steavenson Waterfall. We will take a short walk. Depending on the time, we will continue to go North East and come out at the bottom of Lake Mountain. I am aiming at getting to Cambarville Picnic Ground by lunch time. I am planning to check out the Big Tree just about 1km walk from the picnic ground. If time allowed, there are couple short walks to couple other waterfalls. The whole route would take us up to 900-1100 meter. If we are lucky, we should see some snow.

More details to be provided. The route will be shared using Dirt Map app.

We will be on UHF Channel 39.

Wow thank you all for joining the trip so quickly. I am hoping the condition would be ideal this weekend. Looks like there will be more snow coming this week. Finger cross! .... For those who are new, please make sure you have your recovery gear checked and ready, and if you have a winch, check it if it's working. Please bring a chainsaw if you can. Depends on how fast we are tracking, we will determine the lunch location as we go. Please remember there could be a lot of 4wds in the area this weekend, please make sure we drive safe.

This trip aims at easy cruising/touring in the area. Please note that the condition may change recently which I may not be aware of (tree down, track erosion). So be prepared.

If you can also bring a shovel, it would be great.

Sorry for those who can't join or miss out.
