Join 4WD TRIP - Dargo to Haunted Stream and.. (Trail Ape)

Dargo to Haunted Stream and then some. MEDIUM

I have rated this trip medium as i'm not sure what the tracks will be like.

You must have a mechanically sound vehicle with good Off Road tyres.... NO Highway Tyres.

Last fuel will be at Dargo if its open, so please make sure you have enough for 2-3 days driving.

We will meet up Friday night behind the Dargo Hotel in the free camp area. I will be aiming to be there from about 4pm, so any time after is good. If your able to be there earlier and secure a spot, great.

We will head off towards Gidley trk, Friday Spur, Mt Stevens, Wild Horses and Pheasant Trks and across to Haunted Stream track.
From here not to sure which way we will head, not really familiar with this area so open to suggestion but have some in mind, heading back from the end of Haunted stream.

I will be avoiding the National Parks if I can as I will have the dog with and not interested is another fine.

Thanks Dave, Looks like your right, will make some phone call to confirm.

That bloody track is hardly ever open, was really hoping to do it.

Will have to find another good track in the area. Any suggestions ??

yea was going to say, Haunted stream track was closed when we were up early Jan and didnt look like much going on to open it. We went from Ensay to Dargo. A few steep sections but nothing too hard, one car struggled on the top of storer track but not too bad was a bit wet. We did,

This is pretty much all in state forrest too.

Thanks Ray, very helpful.

So spoke to DELWP today and yes Haunted Stream is closed, from Stirling north. So the southern end is open.
Ray's suggestions looks good and we'll prob do that is reverse and can to the southern end of Haunted Stream still and then head up Stirling track.

DELWP said the track would be close till the end of the year. I really don't get why this track is always closed for so long.
