Another Night Run MEDIUM / HARD

With the Succes of the last night here we go again on another night run.

But this one will be rated Meduim/Hard due to the tracks that im thinking of (Robertson Creek & Bullock Link Trk's) & the fact that we will be doing the tracks @ night, if time & enthusaem permits we might do some other tracks.

Depending on what the weather has been like on the days leading up & on the day this could be easyish or quite hard, There will be Rocks & Rock Steps, There will be Ruts some of them can be Quite DEEP, if it has rained There will be Mud & plenty of it, So it might be a good idea to bring a change of clothing if you don't want to drive home in Muddy clothes.

We will be staying the night (Tracy & Myself) you are quite welcome to stay with us if you want, there might be a Small charge for any extra Vechiles(Parks Vic) & we can have camper Trailers @ this site we will be camping @ Forrest rd unloading area.

 

There is a chance that we will be gnarly / sphincter-clincher tracks. 

There will be rocks, ruts and mud, so not realy a trip for the precious.

 

So As like last time bring the GLW & the Billy Lids( Wife/GF & Kids) & your sense of Adventure.

A couple of questions. Given we meet at 5pm, should we have already eaten dinner or do we have dinner 'on the road'. About what time of night do you expect to bunk down ? What time Sunday do you anticipate bugging our ?

Well my intention was to set up camp then have a bite to eat then hit the tracks as we will be camped @ the bottom our first track so by the time we set up camp & eat it should be getting on dark as for Bunk down time if the last night run we did it was somewhere around 1AM before we got back to camp & somewhere around 2:30 before we hit the sack, As for what time we head off who knows im guessing somewhere between 10ish.

hi guys i am sorry to be a real pain i have to have a hip operation and the only time i can get in is the 21 feb which just happens to be the night run what dates would suit you guys better as i dont want to miss this i thinking the 7th of feb what are your thoughts or a couple of weeks later ??

I'm pretty much fully booked all other weekends until late March, so if you need to change the date I'll almost certainly not be able to come, but don't concern yourself abut that, I understand things have to change some times and as they say such is life !

The Plan that im thinking of is we meet @ the servo @ around 18:00 (6PM) head up to set up camp grab a feed, Air down & hit the tracks, Now the planned tracks so far are Robertson Creek Straight up then onto Bullock Link then head up forest to Sisters this Could end up being an Epic night.
So one thing i will ask is Please make sure that all your recovery gear is in good order & Please Make sure your Winch is working well..

What is the height clearance on these tracks as I have a roof top tent and roof mounted UHF Ariel, do you think that will be an issue ? I've never been to this area so am

@ Luke Yeah Myself & Ryan had a pretty good idea of where it was on the day But after looking @ some more maps i think i know where it starts from infact the track we (myself & Ryan) come down on is Lower Sisters track & Sisters track branches off from there @ the bottom near Bunyip Road.
@ Graeme thats not a good thing to have happen i was starting think that i was going to have pull out as i was having trouble finding brake Shoes for mine, Hope you get it fixed soon.

have fun guys, I would join you but not interested filling all the fines in my radiator with mud and silt from bullock link bog hole, if only there was a way around rather than just drive in and winch out, after all the rain last week it will be nice and full so make sure all the winch gear is out and ready to go.

Yeah we did ok it ended up only being two us that turned up.
I thought i had blown a Clutch or gear box but it turned out to be only my Stubby stick had gotten knocked into Neutral, Kim was not so lucky he took out a flair, a mud flap & knocked the J bolts out of his Gas tank protector.
But in all a good night without to much damage.

Sounds like you had a great night. We were so disappointed we couldn't make it this time. I get my truck back Monday with a new clutch ($1600 later). The joys of forbying!!
