will be sorting out on a detailed map around the area on what tracks sound ok but will be open to what you think we should try as well
      05 Jan 2015
      Andrew Wale (awale)
I am interested in this trip.
But it will be the first time I have been out with this group.
So I take it will be tracks like Ellis Track, Cemetery Track etc.

My car is well setup, but I do not have a winch

      Trip Leader Shannon (orangeshannon)
No worries mate more than welcome for you to come along there will be others with winches so no stress and welcome to 4wdtrip.com hope you enjoy the trips that everyone's planning

      Darren (nuttbag007)
I was up there on the weelend. Thw top of Cemetary is allmost unpassable but I'll try anything
      06 Jan 2015
      Trip Leader Shannon (orangeshannon)
Allmost impassable sounds like a challange to me
      06 Jan 2015
      Matthew (discomatt)
Interested in this trip as I always love a challenge but would advise that if the likes of Ellis and cemetery are going to be done a winch should be a essential item, just my thoughts...
      07 Jan 2015
      Matthew (discomatt)
My rear diff is being rebuilt this week so should be good to go but will check everything out before signing up
      07 Jan 2015
      Simon (1TUFFGU)
Yeah, you wouldn't want to do these tracks without being self recoverable.
      07 Jan 2015
      Evan (Fluffy)
Chicken. All you really need is a shovel and a few teaspoons of concrete.
      07 Jan 2015
      Matthew (discomatt)
Obviously have never tried ellis trk....
have seen fully locked well set up rigs not get up it
      07 Jan 2015
      Darren (nuttbag007)
I have the odd person call me a chicken, funny thing about that is they are the ones that can't get half the distance I get in my Rig or they are just happy to trash their rig. I'm up for any tough track out there but I have no interest in trashing my Rig, I was up that way less than a week ago and I can tell you unless you have a comp truck their is a section of cemedtary track that can't be done with out damage
      07 Jan 2015
      Evan (Fluffy)
Please don't think I was calling anyone a chicken. It was meant to give everyone a little chuckle especially if you understand what the concrete is for.
      07 Jan 2015
      James (tuffeb)
I also agree that winches 33s minimum if your tackling cemetery or Ellis bar work sliders too
Ellis has few chicken tracks depends on weather a lot too if it's raining or been raining it will be a long day
I'm twin locked 37 treps 350 chev v8 in a shorty gq with high mount
      Impassable sounds like fun
      11 Jan 2015
      James (tuffeb)
I'm pretty keen for this my Mrs uncle lives in Millgrove I can trailer my rig out n unload there
      11 Jan 2015
      Andrew Wale (awale)
I am very nervous driving Ellis Track. I have driven this track before and it is rather extreme.
I do not have a winch but have 33" tyres, 3" Lift and rock sliders etc.
As my JK Wrangler is my daily driver, I do not want to damage it.
So will give this one a miss.

      So call me chicken.
      11 Jan 2015
      Darren (nuttbag007)
Andrew, my rig is well set up but I won't be doing anything that will damage my truck. There are still plenty of good tracks to do
      11 Jan 2015
      Clive (clive22)
What sort of trip is this now?
People quitting cause of risk of damage.

Chicken calls? Impossible is the track selection criteria.

Trailered in rigs - for a social day for crying out loud.
It was rated medium to hard not extreme.

If this develops into a thrash, crash and winch up a single track all day count me out.
If you want to do those sort of trips start your own or join one put up as such.

      James (tuffeb)
YouTube some videos of Ellis cemetery and britanica track and you will see why I say minimum 33s and a winch
What's wrong with trailering my rig in? Saves wear on my types abs
      11 Jan 2015
      James (tuffeb)
      Bugger
Saves wear on my types and amount of police defecting 4x4 lately I'd rather trailer it it's decent drive for me

If we skip them 3 tracks in particular I don't know any other ones out there they have chicken tracks but a few of the rocky sections are not crawl able on 35s locked if it's had bit of rain

we wont be doing track if peoples fourbys are going to get damaged im in a sieera shes only got 2 inch lift and the next tyre size up in muddies from stock size but im happy to do the harder stuff and at least give it a got but at the end of the day i dont want to be doing stuff thats going to make my sierra end up on her side its not what im wanting this trip to be more just a fun day out gives people a chance to do some of the harder stuff if they feel like it or not if they dont want to do it they just dont do it no one is a chicken because they dont want to smash up there neat dailys
      11 Jan 2015
      James (tuffeb)
Definitely skip ellis cemetery n britanica
I'm still in either way I don't mind cruising along

a full house boys looks like its going to be an allright day out.
i was also thinking last night depending on how much we wanna do in the area if we get bored or whatever we can allways run a muck around toolangi or nearby areas more hit and miss XD
      06 Feb 2015
      Trip Leader Shannon (orangeshannon)
i should also mention due to the high temperature tomorrow if you have fire extinguisher it wouldn't be a bad idea if you brought them along and make sure you have plenty of water for yourselves
      06 Feb 2015

oh yeh and if people are not able to make it to the meeting point at time and would like to catch up out on the track that should be fine just put your UHF onto channel 12 to see if we can contact you or call me on 0430507312 and we'll tell you what track intersections were at or meet you somewhere else
