On a lot of recent trips during the winter - the awning was setup and I put the Kings double swag under it . It serves 2 purposes - keeps the swag tent drier which in turn makes it easier to roll and pack up.
Also I don't have to hear the putter patter of the rain . on one occasion there was so much rain , I put a bifold blow mould table flat on the ground and put my swag tent on top of it . I definitely had a flat platform to sleep on and my knees were dry when I was roll packing it back into the massive duffle bag .
The Kings double swag is not so easy to repack with that thick mattress inside it .
