What are some good tracks in the Jamieson area. Going in two weeks? Other car will be a reasonably stock hilux so nothing to extreme don't want just a secondary road either

Quite a few seasonal closures up that way, but area has had heaps of rain over the last few weeks, so the easy/medium tracks will keep you on your toes. Some heavy rain forecast in the next couple of weeks.

Hi Mate Georgie here.
Jamieson area is quite a nice place to base yourself as a base camp.
It is surrounded by some nice tracks that go from mild to wild in general but as Allan stated these areas have had some rainfall lately and alot of those easy to medium type hills can become a problem when trying to go up or down them.

If you're looking for a nice spot to camp by the water with plenty of room i suggest Grannys flat.
Which is only 10 minutes from town (Jamieson)
Grannys flat has a nice little river crossing which also has some great steep climbs over the other side of it.

If you're looking for a wild track my favourite in this area would have to be "school track"

I would by no means take the hilux up there in stock form but what we used to do is head up through it on a night run whenever some of the beefed up locked vehicles wanted to head out for a trek.

When you get into jamieson it is literally in the side street of the primary school. Head down towards the end of it amd you'll find an overgrown track on your left.
It starts off with a decent little rutted out climb which gets quite serious the further in you go.

Further down there is a section where you can uturn amd head up this massive rutted hill that can also be privvy to rollovers if you dont know what you're doing.

Be careful have fun stay safe.

Hi Pete

Looking at you car, your very well set up wet or dry, but near stock cars will have a hard time in areas like Jameson. The best thing i can tell you is to get in touch with Antony Palozza hes a member of the club, a  specialist in Jameson-Woods point area and ask him for easy-midium tracks to suit o'ld mate as well. Hes very help full. Tracks up there can start off easy and half way up, turns to a lot of swearing, but than there is no return. Stay safe, have good trip.

Not that i know of Matt
Every time we've ventured up to Jamieson it is always open.
There is no gates at the start of this track.
Its one of those overgrown tracks that if you blink you miss it.

This is the start of it.
This was taken 2 years ago with no lockers and as you can see i didnt get far and even snapped a cv.

I have footage of it on my last trip with the twin lockers and crawler gears somewhere on my pc

Hey Pete. Andrew here id start at woods point on the johnson hill track couple of creek crossings to start then a few little steep cimbs it really depends on what the weather has done to the tracks in the area. your best bet would be to go to woods point and have look around just look at the tracks and take care. i m going up in two weeks if theres not a trip posted. cant wait to go .
