Hello,

On the 24th we headed off to the Ballarat side of Wombats/Lerderderg State Forest. The day started off on a bad note with a sleep in and then the GPS saying it would only take an hour 10 mins, although it took an hour 50 mins.

Finally arrived at Wallace Hotel and met up with everyone before having a quick run through of the tracks and route planned. With that we headed off; I received a route that was lackluster and uninformative to say the least, although tried to make the best of it with no real knowledge of the area and nothing but a paper map to guide us.

After being told the tracks we will be undertaking should be deemed as Medium/Hard with cars having to 'winch quite a lot' we anticipated an eventful day with something interesting climbs, bogholes and drops although we got the complete opposite.

We managed to do the following tracks on the day;

- Carrols Track
- Cricket Ground Track
- Neville Track
- Schillitoe Track
- Ottie Track
- Green Gully Track
- Loam Track
- Wild Dog Track
- Franzke Track
- Thomas Track
- Lynch Track
- Toe Rag Track
- Mahers Track
- Werribee Track

Unfortunately majority of tracks have been recently severed graded and they seem like it would have been a lot of fun as quite a lot of tracks had multiple sections of compressed rocks although majority of the tracks could have been done in a Ford Falcon.

We stopped for lunch at Nolans Creek where we busted out the BBQ and had a great chat in a fantastic spot sharing 4WDTrip stories from other trips that we have been on.

All in all, it was a fun day, a lot of misdirections due to poor map designs and incorrect track layouts on the paper maps but was still personally a fun day with great weather.

We will post the very few photos that we took soon.
