My name is wayne and I have just had a new head put on my GU 4.5 litre patrol auto.I have a problem with my vehicle stalling when I brake hard I have had it back to the machanic.And I have been told it is an electrical problem which I don't beleive because it was the.Same problem with the old head had does anyone Know an electrition I can take it to that might have an idea of what it might be.I live in pearcedale and looking for someone around cranbourne/frankston/mornington erea to look at it. Looking forward to people's responces

Hi Mate, check all your vacuum hoses small and big near and around the break cylinder.

Your brakes are powered by vacuum from the engine if there is a hose leaking or broken it can give you all kind of problems.

.                 I have read your reply to the problem I have with my forby stalling when I brake hard.I have already checked all of the hoses going to the brake cylider and they are ok. And there is plenty of vacume going to the brake booster other than that I have no idea.What the problem is and it is driving me crazy I don't Know what else it could be. I still don't beleive it is electrical I think it could be a timing issue but I am not a machanic. And I am worried about someone running onto the back of me when it happens.If I stick it into nutual on the auto if doesn't stall,But if I don't and it stalls I have to restart the vehicle quickly.Thank you darren for the imformation if you have anymore idea's of what it might be please reply back to me.THANK YOU FROM WAYNE.

Hi Mate,

You say that when in nutaral from the automatic it doesnt happen.

I think you should let your automatic get checked in here there are also things that when you brake it should release.

Maybe in here something isnt working the way it should.

But im not an automatic expert, there seems to be a specialist here in Melbourne that does upgrades and so on maybe try them.

It wayne here again I am saying when I am driving and have to brake hard I.Have to put the auto into nutural so the vehicle doesn't stall,I have had an automatic machanic take it for a drive.And he tell me that the transmission is ok because it changes ok ,You might be right in saying that something isn't working the way it should be.But Im the same as you I am mistified of what it could be that is why I am fustrated because.I still don't beleive it is an electrical problem.If you happen to find the name to the specialist in melbourne please let me Know.Thanks for all your information that you sent me CHEERS WAYNE.
