Just wondering which direction is a better drive on the Strickland spur. Heading in before Marysville off Acheron way? And are there any good tracks that are close to the Strickland spur?

Antony, best way is before you get to Marysville. Actually a number of years back we started our 4wd tracks from just behind the Black Spur Pub at Narbethong. Some nice tracks, but nothing like some up in the Pyreness or Walhalla. In saying that, still a nice daytrip.

Haha looked on the map before posting the trip and had nearly identical route planned. How were the rest of the tracks?

We explore at few tracks on the western side of Marysville but they were all graded! .... 

There should be more good tracks south of Marysville, at Nabathnong area..... Best track would be Joes Spur Track...it's a killer track.... but it's seasonal closed.
