Hi Guys,

My apologies for being a pain in advance, doing a high country trip with my 12 year old around 18th jan for 7/8 days. Never been to high country, have an 80 series 2 inch lift, 1 inch body lift with winch bar, rear bar, pretty capable vehicle. Wanting to do a rolling camp 1/2 nights at camp spots, have a rooftop tent. We will be coming from south(Bairnsdale end).

Can anyone give me a rough itinerary on a route? Just want to do some decent tracks nothing to over the top, see the sights, river crossings and camp up in a few different spots. Sny suggestions appreciated.

If you have that much time, I'd look at this video - it has track names, information and rating. With your setup, you should be able to do all these tracks. Just for a few ideas, this itinerary is on my to do list someday...

You live pretty much at the base of the High Country. We do many of our 'High Country Cruises' starting from around Bairnsdale or further east and travelling north, and I've written about our exploits here: https://australianimage.com.au/category/the-high-country/ (I'd have to go through them to find which ones specifically start around Bairnsdale, but all cover what you want to do). What we usually do is a loop that starts in the east and then ends up back where we started from around central Gippsland (we usually meet up at Tyers).
