Update meeting point at Erica Reserve https://goo.gl/maps/xw3DZH5KFUz
The tracks I plan to do are all the famous tracks in the area including the imfamous Deep Creek tracks and Fulton Track. Most of the tracks in Walhalla are steep and narrow in some sections with big drop if not careful. There will be a lot of switch backs, just as you would expect from typical high countries track. Most of the tracks are easy to medium and hard if wet. The plan is to drive around all the tracks and get to Otooles Camp around 4-5pm. Sunday is just an easy relaxing day and head back home at your own time, or join me to explore an abandoned mine (10 mins hike). Since we have a reasonable size group so the camp may or may not have enough space, if that happen we may have to split to 2 groups and there are couple other smaller camps nearby. If you are towing a camper, please be aware that there will be quite a few switch back, so I may be tricky to drive unless you are experienced with high country tracks.
The river should be low, so you should be fine even without snorkel. You are required to have basic recovery gear.
-
Snatch strap
-
Shackles (make sure your car has a recovery point, and you can attach a shackle)
-
CB Radio
-
First aid kit
-
Gloves
-
Shovel
-
Recovery hitch
Most of the gear above can be purhased easily from place even like Super Cheap Auto.
Note: Due to the large group we have, the pace will be slow. Please be tolerant and consider others who are not experienced. We will have a lot of kids on this trip, so again, please make sure you keep them safe.
