Exploration trip (recce) - Nabethong and surrounds MEDIUM / HARD

Running a recce trip to check out the area and hopefully discover some new tracks. This trip is for those who are experienced and be able to self-sufficient. Most of my recce trips were turned out to be good (and hard) trips. 

 

As a warm up, we will start the trip at Stickland Spur Track which is a steep and long rocky climb. 

 

I may stay overnight somewhere (or even at a caravan park) as I will be heading to Tallarook early morning to help lead a beginner trip on Sunday. Feel free to join me if you are keen to make it as an overnighter.

I did Strickland track the other day and there is snow and it was very slippery but great fun w winch and recovery gear is needed. Have a great time

Hey guys just a quick update. We will first start at Dom Dom Saddle Picnic area and head over to Strictland Spur Track. We will check out a few tracks in the area, which I have never driven before so they could be easy. Just keep in mind that there could be a lot of "turn around", and possibly overgrown tracks. We will cross over to Narbethong area and try to get onto Joe Spur Track (first half as the main track is seasonal closed). We will then find our way heading West and just keep going until we reach to Toolangi. I have never done most of the tracks in the area except Joe Spur and all the tracks in Toolangi so don't know what to expect.
Get your truck ready, check your winch is working, and see you all on Sat early morning.

Forecast for Saturday is 10deg 1-5mm of rain and snow from 1200m.... so should be cold wet and fun :)

Hey Kelvin,
Do you mind if I ask how you went and if you can recommend some Easy / Medium tracks to do.
Im heading up with some mates next week and Iv never been to Narby before.
Any advice and suggestions would be very much appreciated.
