Plan is to complete the last section of our November HC trip that some were unable to do. We will meet in Heyfield then make our way to Burgoynes Tk, Along the way on Burgoynes, we will head down to Macalister Gorge for a lunch break then backtrack to complete Burgoynes. From there we will make our way to White Star Tk before heading to one of the steepest tracks in the Walhalla area; Toomstar. Depending on how we are travelling, we will set up camp at either of the following; Jorgensens Hut, Sullivans Hut or Merringtons Campground for the night. Sunday morning we will make our way to Deep Ck 4 and 1 via various tracks, then head back to Walhalla to air up and head home by 3pm in the afternoon, all going well.
MINIMUM vehicle requirements for this trip are as follows;
TYRES: 32" minumum either A/T or mud. ( I will be running A/T's for this trip)
RECOVERY GEAR: Basic recovery, snatch strap etc and winch is preferred.
UHF RADIO: Either in car or hand held.
As those invited are all experienced 4wders and we have all been on numerous trips together, no need for me to go through my normal conditions etc. As we are driving through sections of national parks, no dogs on this trip. As usual, be self sufficient with food/drinks etc etc.
If some of us wish to drive up in convoy, we can make arrangements closer to trip date, but I do plan to stop at the bakery in the main street of Heyfield before heading to the servo.
