This is an update to advise that the trip is now full. We have four travellers from outside 4WD Trip and two from 4WD Trip.
Just to be absolutely certain of where we are meeting, this is a link to Google Maps showing where we will meet (Tyers Service Station): https://www.google.com.au/maps/place/Tyers+VIC+3844/@-38.1490529,146.4799913,18z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x6b291a9a1d99cfbb:0x40579a430a06a00!8m2!3d-38.15!4d146.466667.
The meeting time is 08:30 am, with departure shortly after, so have your breakfast, fuel etc sorted out prior to this. We will stop at Bairnsdale for our final refuel, with an opportunity to get anything that you may have forgotten.
Basically, plan to be self-sufficient for the four days and bring whatever you need as far as food, drink and accommodatioon is concerned. We usually have enough chainsaws and the like, but if you have one, it never hurts to bring it along (gives Murphy more challenges).
Given that we are going to the High Country, it's not assured that the weather will be sunny and dry every day (or any day), so bring along clothing etc that will cover all contingencies. I aim to camp along a water course each night, so consider this as well.

The Cruise will take us out to the NSW border to Suggan Buggan and then a big loop through the Alpine National Park to Benambra and eventually back home.
As with all of our Cruises, while the trip is more or less planned in advance, it's never a given that we'll stick to plan as Murphy invariably rears his ugly head and forces a change. Often we just plan for day one and then take it as it comes.
Everyone will need to be fully self-sufficient, especially with fuel, as Bruthen will be the last fuel stop until Benambra or Omeo. Bring water, for while we hope to camp by rivers and/or creeks, that's never a given. Good tyres are necessary as highway tyres can/will cause issues even though it is now Summer (I take that everyone will have at least all-terrain tyres).
The first day will be fairly long, given where we have to travel, but we don't make the end point a priority at all costs. The subsequent days will all depend on the condition of the tracks. Hopefully, most of the Christmas traffic will have departed, so that we can avoid the typical Monash Freeway hassle of long weekends etc.
