Touring day trip to Mt Matlock . 7.30am start as is a full day out. Suitable for any 4WD with good condition Light Truck construction A/T tyres minimum .
Designed for both Experienced and Newbie / Intermediate Experience drivers. Great trip for couples to enjoy together.
A Relaxing Fun day out for all . Plenty of chances to put it into low range and Explore a beautiful area .
Recovery gear recommended but not essential as I should have enough equipped 4x4's on the day to help out anyone if needed .
We will stop for a coffee early on , and take a lunch break at Woods Point Pub.
Bring your own snacks and drinks to see you through the rest of the day.
There are a few sections that are steep and rocky and the rest could be muddy depending on the weather.
Trip Route :
We did a recon trip last sunday to check current conditions.
From Cumberland Junction , we will head in via Big River rd , to Frenchmans Spur , follow it all the way through , Plenty of side tracks to play on .
Through to Matlock , Then Tinger Spur Track down into Woods Point. For a Lunch Break.
Then back to Mt Matlock , follow Corn Hill to Ryan's Spur. Depending on time we can shoot down either Camberville Logging Rd or Hope Tk , back to Big River Rd
ETA around 4-5pm at Cumberland Junction.
After all the ice and snow mud has melted , travel is at a lot slower pace overall as it's mainly a rocky base.
Corn Hill is pretty bumpy and slow going in sections. You just need to take it easy and slow in places.
Grip is good , air down to 25 psi is perfect for some comfort ( for my car anyway )
No diff locks needed.
It's all about fun and enjoyment and looking after your car .
Will be a great fun , scenic trip for all to Enjoy.
