Hi all,
Looking at running an easy touring trip aiming for young family and those who just want to get out to the bush during school holiday. The trip will be suitable for most of the 4WDs.
The location will be in Walhalla, an iconic gold mine old town. If you have never been to Walhalla, this is a great opportunity to visit this beautiful town.
It's also a great oppotunity to meet other like-minded 4wders. Bring your lunch, family and your smile :) Looking forward to meeting you all.
Note: Although this is a touring trip, we will be driving in offroad condition. In some cases, you may be recommended to engage 4x4 Low Range and lower your tyre pressure. Please also let me know your 4wd experience in the past so I can better assess the group capability.
Itinerary* (due to weather condition, itinerary has been updated 13 Sept)
-
After briefing at Moe, we will head north via Moe-Rawson Rd to Rawson (pass Erica)
-
From Rawson, we will continue head north via Walhalla Rd until we arrive at Walhalla. (10am)
-
From Walhalla, we will head south and drive around 20-30 mins to Bruntons Bridge crossing. (10:30)
-
From there, we will go back to Walhalla direction and continue head north, instead of going north further, we will turn left into Thompson Dam for a quick stop. (12pm)
-
After a quick stop at Thompson Dam, we will do a loop and go back to Walhalla. From there, you can decide what to do or where to go next.
-
We should finish our trip at Walhalla town around 2pm.
* Note: there may be minor alternation of the route during the day depending on weather/road condition. I am also open for group suggestions.
