Have decided to still go ahead with this trip even though I had little response from forum members. Please note, do not tick 'interested but yet to confirm' as I am only running this trip for those who are 100% committed in attending. I am going to save two places for Mark and Kevin who have both said they will join me on this trip.
This trip whilst not a 'beginners trip' as such is for members who have less than 3 yrs experience and who may not have been 4wding in the Toolangi State Forest. We will NOT be driving any of the hard tracks, Rocky, Cockpit, Blowhard, Aeroplane etc, but a few of the tracks planned for the day might be a little challenging; especially if the tracks are wet. Tracks will have some steep ascents/descents with a variety of terrain that will include rock, clay, mud and small ruts.
All the tracks are suitable for stock vehicles, but minimum requirement are A/T tyres in very good condition. Goes without saying, all attending must have basic recovery gear; snatch strap and shackles, plus UHF radio either hand held or in car.
I anticipate that we will drive aprox 100 klm max from Glenburn so ensure you have enough fuel. Fuel is available at Yarra Glen or our meeting place at Glenburn. Due to commitments that evening, we will be back on the 'black top' by 3pm at the latest.
Meeting time is 9.00am, but I would appreciate all those attending to be at Glenburn by 8.45am at the latest for driver briefing etc as I would like to 'have wheels turning' by 9.00am.
PS: Food is available at Glenburn servo, but better option is one of the bakeries in Yarra Glen
