We have a trip planned leaving from Trunkey Creek NSW (Bathurst) on the 16th April and heading to the first major meeting point of Port Augusta. We understand it's short notice but maybe you may have a few days up your sleeve and only want to do part of the trip or you may be going out that way yourself and we could meet up along the way. 16th April is chosen because it's the date the school holidays end meaning not as busy. Doing the Simpson East to West. You can leave with us at Trunkey Creek or at the first big meeting point being Port Augusta.
Approx itinerary is Port Augusta 18th April heading to Birdsville on the Birdsville Track - 3 days.
Simpson Desert to Mt Dare to Andado to Finke then Kulgera via Birdsville - 8 days leaving approx 21st April. Travelling QAA Line, Poeppel Corner, French Line, Lone Gum, Rig Road, French Line.
Kulgera to Alice/Uluru - Kings Canyon - Looking at approx 7 days leaving Kulgera approx 30th April.
Alice Springs to Marree - 1 day leaving 7th May.
Marree to Oodnadatta Track - 3 days leaving 8th May.
Spending a couple of days in Adelaide before heading home to Bathurst.
It's our first time doing the trip. I'm going purely off timelines from others on the internet. We have safety equipment like first aid, snake bite kit, Sat Phone, Celfi, Epirb, Hema great Desert Trips book, air compressor and max trax. You will need a minimum of max trax and aircompressor.
Basically if you wish to meet somewhere along the way you can text me on 0414 865 227 or if you see a white Landrover Discovery 4 with green headlights on your trip that will be us. Feel free to say hi.
Desert Parks pass is needed prior to heading off and a Loop Permit in Alice which is $5.
We will be staying at a caravan park for showers every now and then like Alice but apart from that we are free camping to save money.
If you are interested flick me a message. Look forward to meeting some like minded travellers.
