In honour of being free, this is a free flowing trip. We'll leave camp at 9am on Friday but you're welcome to stay there Thursday night with me.
Day 1. We'll head toward Mount Stirling via Twins Jeep Track, Mount Sarah and Wonnagatta Station. We'll spend the night in either Wonnagatta Station, Howitt Plains, Lovicks, Bluff or Bindaree camp site depending on how far we make it and camp availability.
Day 2. We're off to Mt Stirling via Zeka Spur, King Billy, The Monument and Clear Hills tracks because they're awesome, then back down toward Licola. We'll be taking 16 Mile Jeep, Low Saddle, Mount Sunday and Middle Ridge Tracks. We'll sleep at Riverside Bush Camp on Low Saddle if we're going slow and Mt Skene Creek or Barkly River Camp site if we're flying.
Day 3. Highly depends on progress made. If we're all the way in at Low Saddle we'll make our way home directly via Licola. If we're at Barkly River Campground you can head home early Sunday or continue through to Walhalla with me. The Walhalla route would include Macalister Gorge, Morning Star, Army and Fultons Tracks. You could even stay somewhere around Walhalla Sunday night if you like.
There is no fuel on this trip from Harrietville on Friday until Licola on Sunday and we'll cover 180+kms between fuel. There will probably be a lot of trees down, so please bring your chainsaw. Kids are welcome but the days will be fairly long. There will be a decent pace to try and cover some ground but we won't be racing. Experience is essential; please don't come if you're a beginner (sorry).
