I have only 1 spot available.. As This trip allready has 2 other cars including myne coming, Wanting a 4th. 

 

 

Day 1 – Thursday 25/07/19

Meeting point will be Wallan BP Service Station on Hume Hwy At 0700 SHARP!

-Hume Hwy to Wangaratta

-Turn off at Wangaratta via Great Alpine Rd to Porepenkah which will be last Fuel stop for the trip, I am unsure if they sell Alpine diesel here, So please ensure you carry alpine additive for diesel 4x4s, This trip we will be reaching approx 1553m and a great chance of snow!!!

From Porepenkah we will travel down Buckland Valley Rd to find a suitable campsite for the trip and setup a basecamp.
 

Porepenkah To Camp (Estimate 25 to 35kms)

Once basecamp is Setup, I will be heading out for a smallish Drive to hit tracks in the local area to explore and get firewood.

 

·         Scotchmans Creek Track

·         Buffalo Range Track (Some Good Views Expected Here if a clear Day)

·         Goldie Spur Track (Quick Stop at Green Hills Lookout)

·         Buckland Valley Rd Back To Camp

 

Above Tracks will Be 50.4kms (Pending on Which Camp we choose)

 

 

 

Day 2 – Friday 26/07/19

Today Is Hopefully Snow Day!!!

 

Today we wil be heading to the Summit of Mt Sarah (Pending snow Level hopefully this will be achievable)

 

Depart Camp by 0830.

·         Buckland Valley Rd

·         Mt Selywn Rd (Unfortunately we can’t Summit Mt Selwn Due to Seasonal Closures)

·         Tea Tree Range Rd to the Summit of Mt Sarah (1563m) Above

From Base Camp to Mt Sarah Summit is 43kms

·         Depart Mt Sarah Summit (1563m)

·         Croft Track

·         Beecher Hill Summit (1433m)

·         Selywn Creek Rd

·         Buckland Valley Rd & Back to camp

·         From Mt Sarah to Camp is 48kms

I’ve included a Part 2 of this trip if we reach Mt Sarah at a reasonable time, Which will be decided on the day if it is feasible to Push on to Mt Hart or Not for some additional exploring,

 

Part 2 of Day 2 (Optional Tracks Time Pendind)

·         Depart Mt Sarah Summit

·         Tea Tree Range Track

·         Mt Hart Track

·         Summit Mt Hart (1271m)

·         Total of 24kms Return Trip to Mt Sarah

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 3 -  Saturday 27/07/19

 

Today is Views Day (Hopefully no fog about)

 

·         Depart Camp 0830

·         Clear Creek Track

·         Demon Ridge (West) Track

·         Klondyke Creek Divide

·         Nolan Creek Track

·         Demon Ridge (East) Track

·         Link Track

·         Paddys Hil Track (Expecting some Steep Terrain Here)

 

Return To Base Camp 58.5kms

 

 

 

 

Day 4 - Sunday 28/07/19

Today is detour day, Pencil in some tracks to do on the way out.

 

Depart Camp by 1000

 

·         Buckland Valley Rd

·         Twin Creek Rd

·         Buffalo Range Track

·         Camp Creek Track

·         Mt Buggary Track (Including Bills Window) Good Views Expected

·         Dandongale Rd

·         Buffalo River Rd into MyrtleFord to Conclude the Trip & Air Up 89kms to Township

·         Travel Back To Melbourne

For what it’s worth, Bright has alpine diesel and only 6km from Porpunkah, if you have no luck there. I don’t remember seeing a servo in Porpunkah, but could be one at a general store or something.
Looks like an awesome trip, I wish I could make it!

Thinking about heading up to Mt Sarah this weekend actually. If the weather report stays true should be a massive dump.

Would be happy to join you on Friday night at the summit wouldn't be able to get Thursday off work.
