Toolangi day trip . MEDIUM / HARD

Toolangi, VIC

See more trips

Looking for a few cars to tag along for a play in the mud this Saturday. Toolangi is a pretty steep and slippery kind of place at the best of times so it’s best suited for people who are moderately experienced and comfortable with such terrain. I personally don’t drive like a yahoo and prefer other sensible drivers.

We meet up at mckenzies reserve at 8.30am and hit the first track at about 9.00am. You MUST have your own recovery gear, at a minimum a snatch strap and the required mounting points for it as well as a working winch. It’s been raining for the last 2 weeks so I strongly recommend fresh mud tyres as toolangi is very slippery.

Please note this trip is suitable for people with small Diameter tires (I run 31s) but not bald or road tires.

Don't forget to check all the closures before planning your trip, you say you want to play in the mud but all the clay based tracks are closed over winter, there are still a few tracks that are open if you want mud though
