Snow day trip Mt Matlock, Woods point surrounding (subject to snow condition) EASY / MEDIUM

Note: this trip is subject to snow condition. If the condition changes and there won't be much snow, this trip will be either postpone or cancelled. I will inform you by Friday. 



 



Running an relaxing trip to Mt Matlock and hopefully can find some snow. 



Early start meet up at Beachworth Bakery at 7.30am. 



I rate this trip as Medium depending on the snow depth. 



We will meet 2 members (Steven and Faris) at Stockman Reward Camp. From there:




  1. Frenchman Creek Track


  2. Boundary Track


  3. Conhill Track


  4. Mt Matlock



This route will take longer but it will take us over some of the area above 1000 meters so we should be able to see plenty of snow along the way. Once we have arrived at Mt Matlock, we will hang around and play with snow.... then either heads to Woods Point or head back to Melbourne via Woods Point road.

Update trip details. Due to expected large number of 4wders in the area, I will not head down to the Woods point pub. Once you have played enough snow at Mt Matlock, you can either:
1. Back to main road either head back to Melbourne or continue on till you reach to Woods Point.

2. (For those who wants some adventure) From Mt Matlock, we will continue on Charles Spur Track and head to Woods Point. I have never driven this track before but it's short track on the map. Again, it depends on the snow condition, so be prepared.

Hi all, some changes on the route.

Hi all, just to confirm this trip will finish at Mt Matlock on Sat. A few of us will be camping at Woods Point on Sat, feel free to join us. Otherwise, just follow the main road back to Melbourne. I will take you back to the main road and say goodbye.

Hi all, as you enter Beechworh bakery carpark please turn left and head straight to the back of the carpark next to the brewery. We will meet up there. Also please can you arrive 15-30 mins earlier if you plan to grab a breaky/coffee so we can aim at heading out at 7.30am. Check your winch, vehicle and recovery gear. See you all in the morning. We will be on channel 39.

cold front about to slam, snow to low levels. should be an ace day. do any of the tracks have water crossings, no snorkel yet but intake is about 1.5 from the ground, diff, transfer breathers to same height.

look forward to saying gday, been such a long time since I have wheeled in the snow
