Been a while since I've been out 4wding, and as the forecast for Sunday is fine & cool, thought I might head up to Toolangi to drive my usual loop. I have rated this trip as 'medium/hard' even though I suspect most tracks we drive will be dry, especially after the hot day on Saturday.
The day will be driving the majority of the well known tracks in the area where we will encounter some steep ascents/descents, ruts and some rocky sections. If you have a love for 'mud', do not join as we will be avoiding the muddy/bog hole tracks on the day.
To join this trip, you must have 4wding experience and vehicle must have the minimum requirements.
Tyres- 31" A/T or muddies as a minimum.
Winch preferred but not mandatory.
Basic recovery gear; snatch strap, shackles etc.
UHF Radio, either in car or hand held.
We will stop somewhere along the way for a quick lunch stop, so please bring your food/drinks etc. Plan is to be on our way home by 4-4.30pm in the afternoon.
PS: As per all my trips, if you have failed to 'check in' by midday on Saturday the 6th, you will be removed from trip and someone on the interested list will be given the opportunity to join.
Ensure you have enough fuel for the day. Fuel is available at Yarra Glen or our meeting place.
Any questions, feel free to ask.
PLEASE NOTE: MEETING POINT CHANGED TO UNITED SERVICE STATION MELBA HWY GLENBURN.
