With more snow forecast for tomorrow night, have decided to do one more trip up to Mt Selma. This leisurely trip will include a number of medium rated tracks with a few river crossings, so those looking for the 'hard stuff', dont bother joining this trip. Once we arrive at the trig point at Mt Selma, we will stop for a lunchbreak/snow play etc then make our way back via Mt Selma Rd towards Walhalla Rd. If time is on our side and lots of snow, we may branch off via Champion Spur Tk and make our way home via the Warburton/Woods Point Rd. It will be a big day, so dont expect to arrive home until well after dark.
Trip is family friendly, so feel free to bring partners/children along. Even though trip is only rated 'medium', vehicle requirements are as follows;
Minimum of 31" tyres, either A/T's or muddies (NO H/T TYRES)
Basic recovery gear and UHF (incar or handheld). Winch preferred but not mandatory.
If vehicle does not have a snorkle, a waterblind/tarp is advisable for potentially deep river crossings.
All vehicles must have low range, so no SUV's
All participants must be self sufficent with food/drinks and ensure you have warm clothing. Last fuel is available in Moe so ensure you have enough fuel to cover aprox 300 klms.
PS: Please be at the Thomson Dam no later than 9.15am for introductions/drivers briefing as I wish to be on our way by 9.30am SHARP.
As per all my trips, you must 'check in' by the cut off time. 'CHECK IN' is no later than 4pm on Friday and if you have not checked in by then, you will be removed and someone else given the opportunity of attending. Any questions, feel free to ask.
