Easy Day trip (with over night camping option) Big River to Woods Point EASY / MEDIUM

Easy day trip from big river to Mount Matlock and with option to camp over night at woods point leaving Saturday morning and coming back Sunday afternoon.  The trip is fairly easy (but not at all boring) which I have done it in my car when it was completely stock.  If you only want to come for the day you can easily head back to Melbourne after Mount Matlock and if anyone is keen to camp overnight woods point that option is also available. Hopefully find a nice spot by the river where we can kick back around a fire. I reserve the right to pull the pin on the overnight camping option if there is torrential rain forecast for Saturday.  If you are looking for a trip to bash your car around, this is not the trip for you. However If you are new to 4WDing and looking to go for a beautiful drive out in the bush, maybe see some snow (if we are lucky) and meet some new people, jump on.

Kris all good, with this site first in best dressed. I've done this trip heaps of time, can never get sick of it, plus we are going to camp down at woods point for the night.

I probably could actually, its such a good trip with a little bit of everything without bashing your car around. I'm just hoping there is no rain for Saturday night.

Alex, I text you this one you didn't reply. On the exit out we will head up Noble, thats a really good track, pretty steep but easy enough. Let me know when your next one is please.

Hi Eli,
Jean and I went up last weekend , was really slushy and chopped up in places , was hard work getting grip on a few sections that are easy normaly , due to traffic.
Lots of it , like Bourke St lol.

Yep, will aim for that spot and hopefully its not taken, if not there are a few other spots around there.

For some reason my timetable and your trips never want to align! I would love to explore some easy tracks around this area however got a rattle in my truck at the moment from my last trip.. found the issue but yet to figure out how to fix it (exhaust and gearbox hitting.. not sure if exhaust or gearbox mounts is to blame).. there is one spot open at this point if I manage to fix it by Friday night and a spot is available still I'll take a day trip.

Lovely. Definitely setting up a tarp this time. Was like a machine gun going off next to my swag last time with the drops of water from the trees

Hi everyone, thanks for all checking in, i look forward to seeing you all tomorrow. Remember to put on some warm clothes as its going to be pretty cold tomorrow and there is a chance we will get to see some snow at Mount Matlock.
Tom it looks like we are the only ones camping so if you have a chain saw bring it for fire wood, i will also grab a box of dry wood on the way.
