I think Antony has clearly indicated the tracks he will be doing in the trip description

"Plan on driving mt Sunday and Barkley river jeep track on Saturday and then heading to woods point to drive burnt camp, Webber and abbots Crk Track on the Sunday. Tracks are overgrown, very rocky and very steep so expect some pin striping, well setup cars and experienced drivers only. "

Hey boys this looks to be a very good trip as i had the privilege of joining Antony and Kelvin through the above mentioned tracks some time ago.

Just another track for you as the "Ace up the sleeve" for you Ant,
When you are at grannys flat, be sure to drive out to jamieson and head on up "School Track"

Directions below.
Head to jamieson primary school.
Turn into side street (the school is on the corner of 2 streets, turn into the side street of this.

Go to the end and when it turns into a private property there is a track entrance which gets overlooked at the very end on the left before it turns into private property.(borders the private property)
Turn left up there engage both lockers and let me know how you go.
It is massively overgrown as not many people know it and or are crazy enough to drive it.

Besides the nice deep ruts you can't avoid and it being a single line track you're either committed or your not.
As mentioned above if pin stripes don't phase you and you are looking for a track that's decent (best in the jamieson area for sure) it has to be in the top 5 tracks I have ever done.

Second "Ace up the sleeve" , when you get half way through it you will get to a "Y" in the road.... head on down the right one and where they meet down the bottom do a u turn for shits n giggles and give the other track a go up...
Careful though... not for the faint hearted. ;)

Best of luck

Old school track is closed these days due to the exposed telstra cable that services the region.

Matthew (discomatt)
We checked out School track and the original start of Mitchells track not long ago, School is definitely closed now, there is a sign at the start saying road closed, as mentioned it is due to the Telstra fibre that feeds most of Jamison, the same cable that runs down Lyerbird which is also now not drivable due to the river crossing at the bottom being totally washed away and leaving 1.5m drop offs. The start of Mitchells is extremely washed out with some very deep water gullies running down the track
I would have joined this trip but am only getting back from a 4 day trip the Monday before...

Matthew (discomatt)
The track George mentioned isn't school track, school track is directly next to the Primary school, the track George mentioned is the original start of Mitchells and is open and is a very challenging drive

Ahhh get ya!
Thats the one Matty,
I have been calling it school track for many years without knowing,
Yes you're right, It darts off onto Mitchell's eventually.

We always go up this track , then make our way over through towards mitchells and then come back through the jamieson river crossing at grannies flat camp ground.

I always do that loop when I'm staying at grannies flat.
It is the one track I take people who we are camping with that aren't "4wders" so they can see the stuff i like to do.

Either way, if you head to grannies I definitely recommend

Gday Anthony,
Just seeing what sort of an idea of time you thought we may finish up on Sunday? As I'm suppose to be home for a nieces B'day party Sunday arvo... (much rather be 4wding...)

I would normally not trust his judgement but he knows exactly where the track is, and has been up it in my car at least 30 times so I definitely know he knows it.
Absolute shame.

Can everyone please make sure they have a full recovery kit and a working winch. Can't remember if I had reception at granny's flat but I doubt it so please be there by 9:30 Saturday morning the latest. I will try and make it up Friday night but all depends on work. To get to granny's flat, head into jamieson, than jamieson-Licola rd and it's about 10/15 kms down the road on the left. It is clearly signposted. if anyone is heading up Friday night see if you can get the camp spot on the left hand side just as you enter, if not everyone just keep a mental note on what cars are coming so we can find each other. See you all soon
