Never been to Tallarook. Did have a possie on Winstons Trip on 19th but had to withdraw so decided to run my own this weekend. My first trip as a leader, so will have the L plates on. One reason why I have restricted it to 4 vehicles.

Second reason, the objective is to attempt Steep and Phone track during the course of the day.

The menu of tracks/rds in order is - subject to change due to conditions and unexpected events of course.

Also if I can suggest- go down Tehans 6, up 5, down 4, up 2 then find the rocky link that goes up to brandy corner, then down around to the willies climb before heading up to army, bridge and steep.

G'day Winston my old man is sitting shotgun / helping me Navigate / I think he wants to drive for a bit as well.. but you are more than welcome to jump in the back seat as like I said I have never been to Tallarook before so hoping with a few maps and hopefully there are a few signs around we will be able to navigate with out to many problems but it is also always good to have some one there first hand.

That link track you talk of is awesome , from what I remember very steep and loose and the further you go up the less formed it is , I guess a lot 4x4s don't make it to the top.

If you guys want a good starting point, meet in trawool other side of tallarook

And head in via falls creek road, off the goulburn valley highway, nice big air down spot and an awesome track

Leads to the big dam, then a few small tracks to get you back to the main road and into the cool stuff

I have been there about 3 times in my twin locked GQ which I recently sold (silly me)

So it's time to chrisen the big GU

I also have full electronic maps and can assist anytime

Broadford-Flowerdale Rd is also Strath Creek Rd - just depends what map you looking at.
Thanks for the suggestion Daniel. However prefer to keep the meeting point for this trip on the south side of the forest. See you are probably coming from Cranbourne, we are leaving Chelsea Heights about 6.45am at this stage and will probably stop at the servo on Eastlink to top up the fuel and get a coffee. Could arrange to meet and travel up together.

Hey Matt sorry I can't make it today as your back seater. I am still repairing my ABS sensor wiring in the rig from last weekend and need it done for tomorrow. Going to post a map in the files section for you now that has the route semi planned on it from when I went that way earlier this year.

Back from our trip today. Will be posting a report sometime tonight I hope with pictures and some phone camera footage. Did not see you map until tonight. Daniel informed us at the meeting point this morning that you could not make. You missed a great day. Regarding the map you posted - is that a rooftop map and if so what edition is it? I bought a rooftop map for Tallarook "Edition One" from our local TJM store a couple of weeks ago and yours seems to have some extra details such as remarks about tracks very steep, steep and rock etc.

Spewing I couldn't make it mate. I tried to get everything fixed yesterday but simply ran out of time and was stuffed by 11pm from being under the car. The one I have is the pocket map edition 2 on waterproof paper. Got it from ARB in Thomastown.

Glad to hear it went well, I look forward to your report and photos especially since I'm heading out there tomorrow.

Nice one Matt. We got back a little while ago from the easy day. Had a look at that section of Phone and it definitely looks good fun. You walked up it. Today was out of the question for us as it was so wet up there.
