Meet at the pub for dinner and then set up camp around Aberfeldy/Thompson damn area. If unable to make Friday night can meet Saturday morning. will decide on a route and camp closer to the date but will probably head up to mt terrible and I also want to have a look at brewery tk. All cars must be self sufficient in both recovery gear and camping gear and Remember it will most likely be cold and wet!

You are right Paul, with only Nissan and Toyota life would be to boring! Yer well il have a good look at the map but rather head to mt Matlock via Aberfeldy or we can meet in jamieson Friday night and head to mt terrible. Having a good think about it
Now will probably be better to head in via jamieson but I will wait closer to the date and I will finalise plans.

Hey guys have had a few dramas at home so won't be able to make the trip. Am hoping that you guys still go if anyone wants to lead, I have maps and a route I can show or just do your own thing. If not I'm happy to postpone until early/mid August. One again sorry

ive just realized ive messed up my dates and the dentist is a week later.

I'll happily take the lead on this one.

I'll get in touch with Anthony and find out what his planned tracks were, and go from there if everybody is happy with me taking over.

Also everyone coming, we will be camping Friday and Saturday night. Looked at the extended forecast and it shows it will be clear weather with temperatures to -1 so please pack warm. A tarp and thermals is probably a good idea!

Antony, you guys will enjoy the area as there are some nice tracks up that way. If this rain continues I can gaurantee Brewery Track will be a 'look only' unless you like winching. German Spur track is a nice drive & parts of it will keep you on your toes if it stays wet.

the last time I tried brewery it had been raining as well, and I didn't even get up the step up at the state so I don't think this weekend will be much different :)

So Ive tried to contact the pub but they haven't answered and due to work sending me on the other side of the City tomorow I don't think il be there until 730. We can skip the pub all together and just meet up at erica around then or I can just meet you guys there if you still want to get a feed. otherwise if people want to head up a bit earlier I plan to stay at merringtons camp ground Friday night. Matt if you are coming Saturday can you be at the camp by 9am? If anyone needs directions to the camp just let me know and il post it up

I think ill just grab a bite on the way up and head straight to merringtons. Because its another hours drive from Erica I would like to get there, set up camp and settle in before it gets too late.

If all goes well at work, I should be at the camp site by about 7.30.

Also put up a map of where the camp is for who doesn't know. Go over the dam wall, right at the t intersection then it's on your right. The track into the camp is called merringtons, get to the bottom then the campsite is on your right

ive got a chainsaw in the car already. don't go anywhere without it when heading out for a weekend bush.

Antony, I would be suggesting you all give the pub a miss, as new owners have taken over not so long ago & still 'learning the ropes', so meals can take a long time to be served. Meals are still great, but unless you are there early, especially on a Friday/Saturday night, expect a long wait.
