Night run @ Ellis Track - One of toughest tracks in Vic HARD

Ellis Track, it's considered one of the toughest tracks in Victoria. Now, I was invited by Jamie from Peninsula 4x4 Club to run a trip at night to Ellis Track at Wesburn.  

Well, I really can't reject such opportunity. So I would like to invite you if you are interested in joining our trip. Since Ellis track is a HARD track even in dry. I would expect you are very experienced in 4wding with a very well setup 4wd with WINCH (Minimum 35" tyres). If you have smaller tyres, please expect you will have panel damage. If your driving style is like drive it like you steal it, you will expect to have damage. The best approach is to slow and steady and walk ...yes walk the way up the track....

I have never been to Ellis but my navi, Jamie, is a very experienced 4wder. He will help us get out of any trouble. 

If you are up for the challenge, join the trip. 

 

This trip is "Not for the faint hearted"

 

The meeting point would be at the interaction of Tarrango Rd and Ellis Trk (basically the starting point of Ellis Trk)

The rock garden is near the top end of the track, drove it in the dry, mate drove it on 33s not to much problems, only had to winch once. There are chicken tracks around all the really hard stuff.

Hi Kirby, what tyre size are you running currently? I would not recommend any tyres with size smaller than 33" to join this trip. You may find it difficult at some section of the track and I don't want to see any damage to your vehicle.

A Ranger on 31's on Ellis trk now thats something I would not do if it was mine!
I would join the trip as its been a track on my bucket list but not at night for the first time, when a day trip is organised count me in.
If anyone wants a spotter or winch rope man let me know

Ok no probs.
We really dont want to many cars because if iits wet we will all be winching. We drove it in the dry fairly easy with a bit of smart wheel placement but in the wet we wont get tthe luxury of deciding were our wheels will ggo.

Hi Kelvin is there an issue using another truck? I`ll be having a go but not as familiar with my mates truck as I am with mine, especially in the dark! and have no issue taking the Ranger Matt just haven't got time to get new wheels and rubber for this one.

Hi Kirby,
Due to the nature of this trip, I would prefer to see an accurate information on the member list. I understand that you can only have ONE 4wd details in your account. If you are taking your mate's GU, that's fine this time. Ideally, I want to see your profile with your mate's GU details (http://www.4wdtrip.com.au/offroad/member/4wd.aspx?u=120) instead of your Ranger. It's easy to change the details. just go to My 4WD under My Account.
As suggested, I strongly do not recommend you to take your Ranger this time.

Hi Anthony, yes, I've done a few hard tracks in the area.... not at night though. I think Jamie (my navi) may want to go back by mid-night. Just to clarify, my trip will finish when I go home. If anyone wants to explore the area, it will be up to you. Let's see how it goes on Ellis Tk ;)

Hi all,
I will change the meeting time from 7:30pm to 7:00pm. This will give us plenty of time to prepare our vehicles, air-down and greed with others. We will set off at 7:30pm sharp. We aim at finishing the track by midnight. Unfortunately we will not wait if anyone arrive late. So, please arrive on time at 7:00pm. Unfortunately I will have to call off this trip due to safety reason. It has been raining in the area, with the rain, Ellis track will be extremely difficult to drive. I would prefer to organise another day trip to Ellis when the weather is better.

Any idea when this trip is going to be re scheduled, I am getting my front diff rebuilt in march with heavy duty CV's and am installing a Eaton true trac, mmm nice hally coil LSD front and rear can't wait and want to do this track as a test run, if the front transforms the car as much as the rear did it will be near unstoppable
