Trip planned for (Monday 18/01/2021 - Friday 22/01/2021 ) .
This trip will go ahead with 5 cars max .
**SAND FLAGS COMPULSORY**
I will arrange a 2nd trip in either FEB / March. .. .
Being peak season , the place will be busy . So this trip will remain a small group.
I have been to Beachport/Robe SA many times and have been wanting to return. I really love what this area has to offer and good memories that bring me back :)
Due to a lot of sand driving and for safety - this trip has a requirement of “ Sand Flags”.
I do recommend the purchase of a quality Fit for purpose Sand flag if possible . I know in the past Sand flags can be home-made too but attaching them securely to the vehicle can be tricky. This is for everyone’s safety and to ensure car insurance compliance - if something was to happen.
We will be staying at the Southern Ocean Tourist Park in Beachport . Phone 08 8735 8153.
Please mention booking under January 4wdtrip.com RHEE - cost is $38 per night per site (includes 2 ppl allowance ). If there are extra adults or children after the allowance , they will charge $12 per person / $10 child .

To keep the group together - there is an unpowered sites area. You may choose to select where you want to stay for example self contained cabins but you can be slotted very far from the main group . I do believe there is one powered site 50 metres from the unpowered sites area where the group would be located if you need a powered site. The sites share shower/toilet blocks.
Do bring recovery gear , shovels and maxtrax for those that have them , also heavy 400 wide x 1 metre rubber conveyor belt sheets seem to work very good in sand .
Each vehicle should carry a reliable air compressor for Tyre inflation to inflate tyres once off the tracks. All vehicles must have a Sand flag - preferably one that is purchased and sold as a sand flag is with quality mounting . Bushranger, ARB , ATEM , Opposite Lock , TJM , RoadSafe and Kings have sand flags available.
Bring sufficient food , water and drink for your duration however long you may decide to stay. There are local shops nearby such as the Bakery, Cafe and Grocery store.
We generally have a dinner night at the Beachport pub/Hotel . It’s become a tradition but not sure how and if the Covid restrictions could impact us as a group sitting together . I will need accurate numbers to book our table .
If you want to fish - bring some fishing rods and tackle. No Fishing licence is required.
however please do check size and bag limits.
Some caravan/camping sites allow fire pit/dogs but if it’s summer - there may be summer fire restrictions.
Requirement
- Electric Winch
- Recovery Gear
