Wil be staying in Paynesville, near Bairnsdale

Besides Walhalla (2 hour drive) is there any trails people can recommend? Is Mitchell river state somewhere you can enter by road?

Gidday John, I live in Paynesville and there are lots of tracks and drives within 2 hours that you can access. You mentioned Mitchell River National Park, on the way to Dargo. In the park you have the Den of Nargan and a bit further along on the way out, there is Billy Goat Bend. As mentioned, Raymond Falls is worth a look, but I would go via Orbost and Yalmy Rd, much quicker. Garnett Track has some areas where it's hard to see and it wasn't very well signposted about 12 months ago. You have plenty of options, Omeo is only about 2 hours away and Mt Hotham another 30 minutes. Hope this helps and enjoy your stay

Hi John,

Your in prime 4WD country, head to Dargo, Billy goat’s track, Blue Rag or Mt Taylor to Ðargo is choice. Plenty of stop offs on the way.
